http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/1427360.stmThey changed his statues from divorced to widowed, so he can remarry AFAIK and the church played the game, too because itīs "religious law"
Under civil law he is divorced and not widowed.
I brought this up on the Sugar Boards a while back and nearly had my ass set afire by a couple of Camilla shills. I KNEW that Charles had changed his status to that of a "widower" at the time of his marriage, and the Camilla bitches over there called me uninformed at best and a liar at worst. They
never wanted to admit that Charles acknowledged-at least in the eyes of the CoE-that he had never been divorced from Diana under religious law.
GAWD I
hate most of the posters over there.
Thanks for vindicating me, Miss W!!
Where in that article does it say that 'Charles changed his status'? The article says that
in the eyes of the Church of England he became a widower after Diana's death, not that Charles went around intentionally changing his marital status. It changed automatically when his former spouse died, as far as the Church is concerned.
Given that Camilla's former husband is still alive, and each played a part in the marital failures of the other, it's frankly irrelevant that the Church designated Charles a widower. They still couldn't get married in a CoE church, and as far as I can see Charles has never denied that he and Diana divorced.
