Don't know, but the Opening Ceremony will be on July 27 and I presume that there will be different meetings and events before for IOC memebers.

Yep!  The yacht will be used as a base for the activities of our dearest DRF. It will be so much fun....

Athletes and officials have started arriving today which is why I was wondering if there is an official start date. The 23rd seems late to me.

I think there is a possibility for athlets from oversea to arrive early enough to deal with the jetlag and get used to the climate/conditions. That was the same at the World Cup 2006 in Germany. The first teams arrived three weeks before.

True, but IOC officials have started arriving too so I would expect Fred (and other royals) to do the same.

Princess Nathalie will be competing in the Dressage for Denmark.
Does any one know the date that event starts?

She has been giving Dressage Master Classes to some Australian riders of recent years.
I think that Nathalie is one of the best.

I've just noticed that the Dannebrog is listed on the Port of London Arrivals list for West India Dock on 26th July.
Though Fred probably will arrive before the rest of the family because of IOC committments.
Such a wonderful sight of yachts will be visible in the Port of London for the Olympics. Thumb up

West India Quay is very close to the equestrian venue and well placed for access to the main arena.  It makes sense as to why London was encouraging moorings on the Thames for the Olympics.

Now we know why the DRF are taking the Dannebrog....

This could be Monaco, or an exclusive resort on the Med as the world’s most lavish superyachts jostle for space. Their perfectly scrubbed decks bristle with security guards, while hot tubs bubble and helipads wink at the sky.
This is the playground of billionaires, oligarchs and A-list celebs. There are rumours that Roman Abramovich’s sumptuous $1billion boat will arrive tomorrow.
At 557ft, the Russian tycoon’s Eclipse is the largest private yacht in the world. It has two swimming pools, two helipads, a dedicated disco hall, 30 cabins, a cinema, a mini-submarine, and even its own missile defence system. Abramovich’s master suite is armour-plated and protected by bullet-proof windows and a laser system designed to dazzle long-lens photographers.
But where is this mecca for the mega-rich? Cannes perhaps? Or the crystal-clear waters off Antibes?

I read the DM article and was hoping the DRF might have a berth between two of the noveau riche superliners.

With any luck, Mary will jump ship and go off with one of the Oilygarchs.

Unlikely, Hester. Most of them want Trophy Wives. Mary's a middle-aged, wrinkly has-been who never really was.

She will be planning the superliner she will have when she is queen. Nothing like that tacky little boat Marge uses
