Forbes placed the srf at 7.8 billion dollar

I can believe it. Think of the value of the jewels and art alone.

Some people forget that there  are other things that attain a value by the size of the collection.  IIRC the Bernadotte Library is privately-owned by the SRF (?).  I think I read somewhere that it is also highly valued.

Daniel is such a good guy. I love that pic on the previous page of him helping Vick with her dress. He reminds me of Prins Claus, so dedicated. OT, I had no idea it might be in the 7-8b range.

Billions? No way. They're not on Forbes' richest royals list, which starts at $350 million.
http://www.forbes.com/201...billionaire_slide_14.html

IIRC, Time Magazine estimated Carl Gustaf's wealth at $15 million or so.

I don't think the Swedish family are worth billions of dollars.  They're never been listed in Forbes Worlds Richest Royals list.  From the European royals it's always Liechtenstein, Monaco, UK and Netherlands that's listed.  Here's the most current list I could find: http://www.forbes.com/201...-billionaire_slide_2.html  They aren't also listed in Forbes Europe's Richest Royals: http://www.forbes.com/sit...7/europes-richest-royals/  They're not poor but I would estimate they're wealth to be less than $100 million.

Here's the Time Magazine List of Europe's Royals and their worth.  They mention Sweden Royals weath is about $20 million. http://www.time.com/time/...le/0,8599,2050519,00.html

If the state owns the palaces, I imagine the state also owns the majority of the contents of the palaces, no?

I would wonder if, given Daniel's entrepreneurial abilities, if the fortunes of the SWR may not turn arund soon. He's just forward-thinking enough to come up with some investment ideas ahead of the trend that could turn out to be real winners.

No..the Bernadotte library is own by the state, just as the Stockholms Castle (where the library is located) is, its appropriated by the King.

Of the 13 royal castles in Sweden, there is only one which is privately own by the SRF, and thatīs Solliden their summer palace.
So no billions of dollars there...

Wikipedia say that The King alone is worth $42 million, now i know that the wikipedia is not the most reliable of sources since anyone can post information, but this page is protected so no one can edit it or input information.

Expressen reveals today that Victoria has a stock portfolio worth over SEK 20 million, and Estelle has one worth SEK 1,4 million. No info on the rest of the family though...

http://www.expressen.se/d...usets-stora-aktievinnare/

Expressen writes about the portfolios of the royal family and how much their stocks are worth today:

CG: 56,971 370 Swedish Kronor ($6,611,420).
Silvia: 5 625 288 ($652,781)
Madeleine: 16 202 163 ($1,880,339)
Victoria: 14 855 583 ($1,724,061)
Carl Philip: 12 049 853 ($1,398,293)
Daniel: 378 780 ($43,953)
Sofia - has no stocks

It's not like they'd have to live on the street if the monarchy were to end soon...

Does anyone think these numbers seem real?  Where does the SRF keep their wealth?

As I have understood it (feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken):
Those are only the stocks. For some reason (Madeleine is high up on the list, maybe  Roll Eyes ) they haven't included property such as buildings, and old inheritances, like entailed estate, that go to Carl Philip as the only son.
Their wealth also consists of NOT having to pay for electricity, rent...and so on.
So the wealth comes from many sources and wells.
