Isn't his maternal grandmother a Russian Grand Duchess?

His mother was born Princess Marina of Greece.  Her mother was Grand Duchess Elena of Russia.  She was the daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir & Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna ("Miechen").  Vladimir was a son of Alexander II.  His mother's father was also a son of a Russian grand duchess (Olga, who was married to King George of Greece).

Not only does Michael look like Tsar Nicholas II, but Nicholas looked very similar to his cousin King George V of England.  Their mothers, Alexandra and Dagmar/Marie, were sisters.  Michael has two great-grandparents that were sibling as Alexandra is his great-grandmother through his father's line, and her brother (King George of Greece) is his great-grandfather through his mother's line.

He looks a bit like Donald Sutherland, I think.  At any rate, he's very distinguished looking.

In some of his more recently photos, he could give Sean Connery a real run for the money.

it is, isn't it

King George V (right) with his first cousin Tsar Nicholas II, Berlin, 1913.

it is said that Georg and Nikki switched uniforms to fool their surroundings. They succeeded and are said to had have their time of their lives with their jokes. All spoke German, English and Russian without accents.

the three kings: Czar Nicholas II of Russia, King George V of Britain and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany. Three first cousins

Kaiser Wilhelm looked nothing alike his cousins when he was younger, but as an old man he started to resemble them more.

Kaiser Wilhelm II. with Kaiserin Hermine, German Emperor and Empress

sorry to be OT, but these three always fascinated me. Back to the Kents now

You would never guess the Duke and Prince Michael are brothers.
