Prince Edward, Duke of Kent with his son Lord Nicholas Windsor and Lady Helen Taylor enjoyed an early morning walk in 1988.

The Duke of Kent looked so prematurely aged in that photo, wow.

Alexandra was just gorgeous...

Happy 60th Anniversary, duke and duchess of Kent!  She looked beautiful.  I loved her dress.  I love that they got married in her "local" church, York Minster.

I like the fact that Queen Elizabeth II wore a hat with white York roses when she attended the Royal Wedding.

Wimbledon Royal Box: Duke of Kent, Captain Sir Tom Moore's daughter and more on day one:

https://www.hellomagazine...tend-wimbledon-day-one/1/

Quote
The Queen's cousin, the Duke of Kent, was among the guests in the Royal Box on the opening day of the Wimbledon tennis tournament on Monday.
The 85-year-old looked visibly moved as the crowd thanked and applauded those who have played an important role in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of whom were invited in the Royal Box.
The Duke, who accompanied the Queen at Trooping the Colour in Windsor earlier this month, is president of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and is a regular at Wimbledon every year.
He was sat next to British racing legend and the Queen's close friend, Sir Jackie Stewart.  Guests to the Royal Box on Monday include Hannah Ingram-Moore, daughter of veteran fundraiser Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised over £32 million for the NHS. Scientist Dame Sarah Gilbert, (centre) who worked on the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine, was given a standing ovation on centre court.

I love Sophie’s dress! I think she’s so stunning. Her hair is just gorgeous too and she always seems to be in a good mood.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57784464

The Duke of Kent is stepping down as the president of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) after more than 50 years.

The Queen's first cousin, 85, has presented trophies to more than 350 winners including Bjorn Borg, Billie Jean King, Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Sir Andy Murray.

He said he was "incredibly proud" to have held the position.

The AELTC paid tribute to his "extraordinary service".

The duke made his first appearance as president in 1969, presenting Rod Laver and Ann Jones with their trophies.

He will present the trophies to the winners of this year's tournament for the final time this weekend.

Sad news, what a wonderful 50 years of service.

It could be through the Greek connection, too.  Prince Peter and Prince Michael of Greece were the only ones IIRC who had good heads of hair (before CII and his sons).

Earlier this week Princess Alexandra stepped down after about 60 years as Patron of Guide Dogs for the Blind and Sophie took over. They did two joint engagements together on the day it happened.

Seems like the Kent's are really starting to 'step back' not just in terms of engagements but in terms of their patronages as well. Not a real surprise given their health issues over recent years but sad all the same when there is a changing of the guard that we have come to expect.
