Apparently it was his parents' house.

Passing of the guard, bless him. Hope he is enjoying pottering around in the garden and taking it easy more, the past few years have been tough on him but he hasn't missed a beat.

It’s hard to see the baton passing. First, Wimbledon, now this. It’s unfortunate but time does March on and I hope he has some relaxing time ahead. He’s been a faithful royal family member for the late Queen and now Charles. Take your last salute, Sir.

This event actually brings a tear to my (crabbed, cynical) eye.
Rather like when Prince Philip performed his last solo public event, with the Royal Marines. 😔

With the utmost respect, I say job well done Sir Knight. What a life of service. Glad he bowed out while he could enjoy seeing the tributes from his regiment, important for the servicemembers who served under him to celebrate him like that as well.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent the Deputy Colonel in Chief of the @SCOTSDG visited their Home Headquarters and Regimental Museum in Edinburgh Castle. Corporal Euan Jardine, SCOTS DG, had the honour of piping for the arrival of His Royal Highness who was then welcomed by Brigadier Ben Edwards OBE, Colonel of the Regiment. His Royal Highness presented the Duke of Kent medal to Captain Rory MacLachlan, the Chairman of the Regimental Museum Trust in recognition the invaluable 28 years he has been involved with the Museum. https://twitter.com/ArmyinScotland

Very good and decent that the tabloids left the family alone with their grief. And good that she moved back to her parents. The public memorial service might be difficult for the widow, hopefully the press will not intrude too much, but there are precautions the family can arrange, I hope.
