My apologies if a similar thread already exists--feel free to merge. But since we are always posting so many stunning photos of the lovely Grace and Diana, I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the most beautiful young royal of the twentieth century (in my opinion): Paola of Belgium.  Here are a few photos to start:

If I remember correctly, the way she wore her hair -- slicked back with a large bun in the back -- was a style that came along after -- and in reaction to -- the beehive. It-- Paola's hairstyle -- was actually known as ``the princess,'' and it was a look everyone wanted (but it  required her kind of delicate bones to look really good).

Really! I'd never heard that; thank you :-)  Star. Yes, I wouldn't imagine many women could pull off that look well.

More:

I read somewhere once that Princess Grace was a bit threatened by Paola, as she was quite a bit younger when she married Albert.  Apparently the two of them were at some sort of gala dinner and Grace felt that Paola "upstaged" her, and was very upset.  Who knows if it's true, but it's interesting.

Please don't throw things at me, but honestly, I think that Paola was more beautiful than Grace.  She had the most delicate bone structure.  She was an absolute knockout when she was younger.  I've yet to see any royal who comes close (Charlotte Casiraghi does, but she's technically not royal).

She certainly had a much more delicate bone structure than Grace.  She's really got a ballerina body, when you come right down to it, complete with small head and exquisite features.

That's the thing--I think she was more beautiful than Grace too. And certainly more beautiful than Charlotte, whom I SHOULD find lovely but who does nothing for me because she's always so damn sulky and comes across as kind of a spoiled b****.

Paola indeed was the prettiest of them all. Back in her days she was on many magazine covers, however she never grew to the status of Grace and Diana because she wasn't married to the heir to the throne. In those days people thought she would never become queen hence she got attention but not THAT sort of attention. I've read and heard she actually has had a hard time having to deal with the fact of becoming queen. When she married Albert she never thought that that could happen.
