Well we can speculate of what the reason was:

Childlessness?
Nik not growing up?
A mixture of various issues?
¨
Or they just grew up apart, they didn't change in a compatible way...

I doubt we will ever know.

Loosing a parent can be difficult and change you, especially if you are a bit lost in life. My guess is they have grown apart in middle life, with perhaps too few things binding them together.

According to Greek news agencies, Nikolai and Tatiana are divorcing!

Wow, that is unexpected (at least to me)

Yesterday I saw a bunch of articles - and it was mentioned in a gossip broadcast - that there was another person from Nik's side, a well known lady of Athenian elite society. I cannot imagine who might be, as I didn't follow closely the posts and there were not given further details. In the meantime, it seems Tiatiana met someone as well but it didn't go further.

It seems they were separated for 1,5 year and they don't live together for quite some time.

I agree, Maria.

Besides, I don't completely believe all this stuff about 3rd person. They managed to hide their separation for a long time, they had appearences together and Nik's last post for the New Year it had his wife on the photo. They seemed pretty united, solid.

With the long holiday weekend we made a quick visit to NYC and in one of the Chelsea galleries Nikolaos has an exhibit of his photography. It's actually really good. Several of the pieces were printed onto Greek marble and some of those form attractive side tables. I will admit that I don't know a lot about photography but he seems to have an eye. Everything was black and white and he plays with scale and texture and of course there were a few obvious Greek themes like the Temple of Sounio and some toi et moi olive trees. The gallery director said a lot of people turned out for his opening last month. He seems dedicated to this profession.
