That picture from the Remembrance Day concert:  I love the fact that both Gloucesters are singing without having to check the program.  I wonder which piece it was?

Richard looks like he is yawning!  Laughing

Royal Central @RoyalCentral  ·  3h
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will attend a Reinterment Ceremony for King Richard III at Leicester Cathedral on 26 March.

Royal Central @RoyalCentral  ·  3h
Richard III was Duke of Gloucester before ascending the throne, therefore he was before his accession (Prince) Richard, Duke of Gloucester.

I believe the Duke is also honorary chairman (?) of the Richard III Society, so that on top of the twitter comments sort of make it an obvious thing. I'd have been disappointed if he wasn't going.

I think it would have been right and proper for the current monarch to attend. The man had been an anointed king, one of her historical predecessors, and indirect ancestor, after all. Her, or the Prince of Wales, would have been equally appropriate.

They probably identify more with the Tudors so they would not honor a Plantagent King.

I have just seen that Richard is opening my local fire station, which has been completely rebuilt, at the end of June.  Royalty in my town!

I guess we're talking about Princess Alice - she was a daughter of the Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry, Scottish duke, one of the largest landowners in Great Britain.

William was so handsome. There is a short biography available on Amazon that's pretty interesting with quotes and information about his life. He seems to have been a really good man, a shame he died so young.
