F&L already relayed condolences to Javier Fernandez, president of Asturias. I'm not sure why they sent condolences to Fernandez. Is it because he's one of the leaders of the socialist party? She belonged to the socialist party and was only 46. That's really young.

Happier news: Sergio Garcia just won the Masters. He's the 3rd Spaniard to win it. I'm sure Casa Real will tweet something. Rafael Nadal was watching it and already tweeted his congratulations to Sergio. It's late in Madrid though. Sergio hit a birdie to win it in a playoff. Great for him!  Thumb up Champagne

Because he's still the leader till the election of a new one - it's taking too long. The campaign was already suspended.

Thanks Nuno. I forgot he's the interim leader of PSOE.  Star

F&L sent a telegram to Sergio Garcio. I didn't know people still send telegram.

"Your great achievement is a spectacular triumph for Spanish golf," Felipe VI and Queen Letizia underline in this telegram, according to Efe sources told the Casa del Rey, after wishing the Castell?n golfer " many congratulations" for his victory,  And conclude: "Congratulations with our best wishes for success for the future and all our affection".

Don Felipe and Do?a Letizia have also congratulated Sergio Garcia  with a message of congratulations through the official Twitter account of the Casa del Rey in which they emphasize that his victory is "proof of the tenacity and talent to move to the history of golf Spanish"."

A new unauthorized biography of Felipe will be coming out and it's in French! The writer was interviewed.

Quote
June 19, 2014. Hotel Villareal de Madrid . From a room in front of the Congress of Deputies, a sniper is engraved simulating that it points to Felipe VI on his arrival at the Palace of the Cortes , about to be proclaimed King of Spain. No one is aware of its presence , not even the forces and security forces of the State that day ensure that the act unfolds without incident. This detail, which managed to go unnoticed by most Spaniards, is what serves as the genesis in the last unauthorized biography of the current monarch . Under the title 'Philip VI of Spain. The normal King ', Jean Chalvidant, journalist and doctor in Spanish civilization,

To analyze what counts the next biography of the sovereign who will see the light in France on April 18, LOOK has contacted the author, who assures himself not to be any courtier of the present monarchy nor to have any prejudice against a king who, To date, has not demonstrated whether or not he is up to his position. " Felipe has not had to face any challenge yet. He has not had to end Francoist proxies, install democracy, authorize the Clandestine Communist Party, or face Tejero . Felipe, until today, has experienced only one crisis, that of the absence of government, during which he has done his job of talking to everyone. Therefore, it does not deserve laurels . It has not had attacks of ETA or of the Islamists, it has not had pronouncements, And congratulations on it. The only destabilizing element that can turn it into a great King or a normal King is the separatist conflict in Catalonia . That will be his examination because he alone has the power to protect the unity of Spain, "says the writer sharply.

If Felipe VI defines it in its holder as "the normal King" that is because, according to him, it has no defect. "In his youth he liked to take a nap. No longer. He loved sleeping and used to arrive late. No longer. He was shy when it came to talking. No longer. In addition, she is a good husband (the 'Pe?afieles' have not been able to draw a single romance from others), good father and works with constancy and talent. Compared with certain European heads of state, he is almost a genius, "he says.

But for Chalvidant, that success would not have been possible without the role of Dona Letizia . He believes that they form a perfect tandem because she "gave him simplicity and a better knowledge of the people" . " Letizia knows what a month is , wait for a bus or get angry with her bank. He taught her the uses of the palace, to restrain her character and to remain silent, which was probably the most difficult, "says the author.

Chalvidant does not hesitate to recognize that Dona Letizia is a perfect stranger in France . He affirms, not without first apologizing, but believes that the figure of the consort is only analyzed with a magnifying glass in Spain, where he does not understand the criticism since, for him, "Letizia has not committed in thirteen years any serious error apart from e- Mail (which was private) sent to L?pez Madrid . "It is surprising to see how a plebeian knew how to dress Princess and Queen today , without lack of taste and with class and class!" He exclaims.

In his view, none of the Queen's family's scandals have undermined her popularity , let alone the King's. "More has been affected by the scandals that have surrounded Juan Carlos, among them are the hunting in Botswana , Corinna, and the alleged hidden fortune accumulated by the old King and that has discredited the crown," points to LOOK.

Regarding the involvement of I?aki Urdangarin in n?os case , Chalvidant says this has not marred the image of Felipe . " The history of Urdangarin was already known several years before Felipe reached the throne," he says. An episode in which, although the name of the infanta Cristina gained much protagonism, Chalvidant prefers to unlink it. " You have to separate the N?os case from the Infanta . On the one hand, and so the judges have estimated, are Urdangar?n and Torres, who have been punished. On the other hand, Cristina, who seems to have played the fool of service, falling in love with her husband, who did not deserve so much passion, and without perceiving that his attitude harmed Juan Carlos, Felipe and,
No hairs on the tongue when it comes to talking about the monarch's intimate life

Chalvidant also speaks of the best known loves of Felipe , as Isabel Sartorius, Gigi Howard, Eva Sannum and, his now wife, Letizia. However, the French also dedicates several lines to countless women who, to date, are unknown if they are part of the King's love curriculum , or are speculations.
"The first, Vicky Carvajal, followed by names, real or invented : Bibiana Corcuera, Yasmeen Ghauri, Tatiana of Liechtenstein, Carolina of Waldburg, Marcela Cuevas, Czech model Alicia Krezjlova, Lady Gabriella Windsor (daughter of Prince Michael of Kent and granddaughter Of King George V), Diana Mart?nez Bordi? Aznar 'Didi' (Alfonso de Borb?n's cousin), Flor de Mar?a Valero P?rez-Jim?nez (granddaughter of the Venezuelan dictator Marcos P?rez-Jim?nez), Anna Jussil and, why not, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, "reveals Chalvidant.

Documentary on the thousand days of Philip VI on a Belgian television

RTL issued a 10-minute piece which summarizes the beginning of the reign with two words: modernity and integrity

It was March 14 when those thousand days were fulfilled since June 19, 2014, Don Felipe swore before the Cortes Generales and became the new king of Spain as successor to Juan Carlos I.

Newspapers, magazines, digital media, radio and television programs prepared special reports and content to review these two and a half years in which Felipe VI has become king after nearly 39 years of his father and has dealt with problematic issues such as Political blockade that forced to repeat the elections, and especially the 'Nóos case' and the involvement of his sister the Infanta Cristina and her brother-in-law Iñaki Urdangarin.

Confidential Monarchy  has been able to verify that that interest by the first thousand days of reign of Felipe VI has crossed borders and has arrived at Belgium. On Saturday, April 8, the RTL (francophone, also broadcasted in Luxembourg) broadcast a ten-minute report ( see here ) on its program on royal houses "Place Royale" that analyzed the figure of Don Felipe and These first two years and nine months at the head of the Crown.

" Modernity and integrity"
The conclusion that transposed the report to the spectators was already in the very head of the piece: "Modernity and integrity" were the two words chosen by RTL to define the first bars of the stage of Felipe VI.

The report has the opinions of three experts: Marc Deriez, editor in chief of Paris Match magazine in Belgium; Patrick Weber, journalist specializing in royalty; And Régine Salens, chief editor of the website Noblesse & Royautés.

It begins with images of the oath before the Cortes and makes a brief semblance of the king: it emphasizes, above all, its university formation and the fact that it speaks several languages, including French "perfectly".

Also see kings Felipe and Letizia traveling together in AVE, images that serve as background to comment that the two have "very different characters", but at the same time "complementary."

Don Felipe emphasizes the role he had to play in the political crisis suffered by Spain in 2016 due to the lack of agreement between the parties to form a government, as well as the areas in which they are most involved in public events and in their speeches: International relations, defense of Spanish culture, the Armed Forces (a helicopter comes out), the fight against terrorism ...

On the other hand, to talk about the role of Queen Letizia show images of the trip of cooperation that made to El Salvador, and indicate that she has special interest and predilection in subjects of infancy, education and health.

A thousand days of reign "irreproachable"
For this report, RTL has made a balance and summarizes the reign in some figures of Felipe VI and Dona Letizia in these first thousand days: 27 trips, 530 official acts, 402 hearings in Zarzuela, 273 speeches ... All with one result: one Attitude "irreproachable," according to journalist Patrick Weber.

"Integrity" is another of the strengths that this report highlights from the reign of Don Felipe: he gives as an example that the salary was reduced by 20% compared to that of his father Juan Carlos I. And this links him to the most thorny issue: 'Caso Nóos' and the infanta Cristina, of which she shows images declaring before the judge and of which she emphasizes that her brother the king has maintained a clear distance.

Another of the strong points that the authors of the report point out about the "new" Spanish monarchy is the image of family, and from the proximity and popularity of the "adorable" daughters of the kings: Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia . There are shown images that Zarzuela distributed on the first anniversary of the royal family in his residence, with caratñas of Don Felipe to his daughters.

To all this they add the proximity of the kings, who greet the citizens who come to their acts; The use of fashion brands sometimes low cost by the queen; Film and concert plans on weekends in Madrid; Or the images skiing with their daughters, are all elements that the report of RTL is showing as keys of the new stage opened by Felipe VI in the Spanish monarchy more than a thousand days ago.

F&L have met the new French president and first lady during their state visit to France in 2015. Here was a photo of the couple attending the banquet in F&L's honor:

I have to say she looks really good for her age.

It's nice to see F&L offering a lunch for Muna and that they released photos.

Besides the close relationship of the SRF and the JRF, Felipe and Abdullah speak regularly on the phone (the Jordanian state news agency usually announces it afterwards) and Felipe was invited by him to attend the World Economic Forum last weekend. Abdullah and Rania also visited Spain shortly after Felipe became King (and of course F&L spent part of their honeymoon in Jordan, their close relationship with Princess Alia...) so I'm waiting for a full-fledged state visit between the two countries.

Leti looks good and she's reminding herself that tomorrow she's going to attend the opening of the book fair accompanied by Felipe and the President of the Portuguese Republic because she's wearing the skirt and heels that she wore for last year's opening and the bag she wore for the cancer conference she attended in Oporto a couple of months ago
