Do we know that’s her hand holding the cigarette?

If so,   Nono

Then again she's simply continuing a family tradition...

Trust fund babies..... she wants it all .... send her to South America for a few years

I don't think she'll stop smoking just because she's sent to South America.

No, but she may gain some humility there.

It seems to be Alexia's hand from this point of view. I had to think of a Dutch saying: ze heeft het niet van een vreemde (literally: she doesn't have it from a foreigner). Both her parents have smoked, and according to the pictures Max has done it until or even within her marriage to WA.

Perhaps also a kind of peer pressure, as I noticed many youngsters took the habit of smoking up again in the Netherlands.

I know Alexia is still a teenager so I wouldn't worry too much for now, but I certainly hope that she doesn't follow the path of some other second (and third) born royals. Priviledges and no responsibilities.

She should take a look at her uncle Constantijn or great aunt Margriet to see how it's done.

I rather see the 3rd sister Ariane following Constantijn's and Margriet's path, they are also the 3rd sibling. I may of course be wrong but I have a gut feeling that Alexia as the 2nd sister will be the "trouble maker" or "enfant terrible" like Friso and Irene. I cannot help but to me she seems the least likeable of the triple A.

The same feeling over here.

I think that in case of Friso it was predominantly that he didn't like all the fuzz. And that he was already happy not to be in line of the Dutch throne anymore upon his wedding. At that time he already carved an impressive career for himself already. How much was achieved on his own or on his royal background is not completely clear, but still.

Alexia comes across as arrogant... Knowing herself that she is considered the relatively prettiest one of the 3 A's and grows up with many privileges. Amalia seems to be aware of the future ahead of her and the requirements & restrictions. As mentioned by herself in 2019 she didn't wanted to be a showpony. While Ariane comes across a bit akward, just like her uncle Constantijn in the days. Wondering which side of her will prevail.

And Alexia, sorry dear, but you come across as a brat.

ITA with you both. Ariane I see supporting Amalia. Alexia seems to be reaching for the role of troublemaker.

I hope I am wrong, but Alexia also looks to me as she'll be the rebel.

Is smoking is a feature of privilege and arrogance? I thought it was just a bad and unhealthy habit.

For me it is both. It shows that a person doesn't care about it's own health and even more so not about those around them (which can easily be translated to arrogance).

Alexia will be 15 next week. She's right in the middle of those awkward teenage years where you aren't a child anymore but you're also not quite mature enough to be treated like an adult.

She's also in the unenviable position of being in the public eye without having actively chosen to be famous the way that actors/singers/etc do. I know I'm really glad that I was a nobody as a teenager and I wasn't being scrutinised by the public. She's also the middle child in a family where even though I believe her parents love all 3 of the As equally, the reality is that her sister will literally become Queen while to the rest of the world, she is "just a spare".

So I am going to withhold my judgement for now. She's still a kid trying to figure out who she is and what her place is in the world, and while I'll dish away on adults, it doesn't feel right to write harsh things about someone who is still a minor.

I will say that I hope Wax and Max are really trying hard to steer her onto the right path and leave it there because I do know how strong willed teenagers can be (I was one myself, many many years ago now).

Lots of kids smoke in Denmark these days, I have seen them described as “the lost generation” because systematic campaigns against smoking were stopped because kids didn’t start smoking. The campaigning stopped and kids started smoking agwin Beer It would be a hard no in casa de RD but with parents that have (are still?) smoked it’s gotta be hard to put the foot down..

I don’t have girls but the girls I know around Alexa’s age are navigating complicated seas. She’s doing it with public attention too. That cannot be easy so for now I am cutting her some slack as WA and Max don’t seem to be horrible parents (unlike likely Fred and Mary or Pavlos and MC..).

Royal Family shares new photos of princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane

The Royal House shared new portrait photos of the three princesses on Tuesday. Amalia, Alexia and Ariane all pose for the camera on their own.

In this new photo, 16-year-old Amalia is wearing the dress she was wearing during the photo opportunity prior to the family's summer vacation. (Photo: RVD / Martijn Beekman)

Princess Alexia is dressed in a white dress from Sandro Paris, a brand she wears more often and in which her older sister and mother have also been seen. The fifteen-year-old princess combines the garment with three necklaces and several bracelets. (Photo: RVD / Martijn Beekman)

Princess Ariane, like her eldest sister, wears the same dress as during the photo opportunity before the holidays. It has not been disclosed when the photos were taken except that it was in July, but this could indicate that it may have been just before or after the session. (Photo: RVD / Martijn Beekman)

Ariane is such a cutie! Her smile is so sweet. Amalia is a beauty, always has been. Alexia is beautiful like her sisters, but I wish she would have either smiled or just closed her mouth. Something about the half open mouth look makes it seem like a candid “caught in the moment” talking/moving. Not my fave for an official photo.

In Dutch gossip land (gossip tv shows, gossip magazines) the rumour goes that Count Claus-Casimir (2nd child and only son of Prince Constantijn & Princess Laurentien) is 'expelled' and will finalize his secondary education at Gordonstoun. Indeed the place where some British royals also attended and which was dreaded by Prince Charles.

Claus-Casimier's older sister Countess Eloise is angry about how this item was described and discussed in Dutch gossip land. Especially by royalty expert Marc van der Linden in Dutch gossip/showbizz tv programm RTL Boulevard.

I hope I am wrong, but Alexia also looks to me as she'll be the rebel.

I agree. She seems a lot more "relaxed" in public than her sisters. She most likely won't be queen, after all. The smoking, lip-syncing to the n-word in a TikTok video, and cursing (in public, where I think she was knowingly being filmed) when she accidentally drops her skiing pole are just some examples. I've noticed this rebellious behavior a lot in royal spares lately. I think that her parents love the three equally (hopefully), but maybe Alexia feels like she doesn't get enough attention from them? 15 is an awkward age, and personally, being a middle child myself, I can understand where she's coming from.

(This does not condemn her actions though... I hope she grows out of this behavior as she matures).

Interesting ... anything else about that story?

I just gather that Eloise has a very busy Instagram account with more than 100.000 followers and was in trouble for publicly smoking a while back (she is over 18, looking for lime light herself, so I hope it is okay to post that). Her parents complained that this information was "private" - I got the impression she was another royal who likes the attention, but only when it suits her.
