it comes across as pedantic to write "elle" with a capital E or "il" with I (they seem to do it in all their profiles, whereas the belgians don't).

they do not add dutch as one of the languages she speaks fluently. Thinking

I think Steph is lovelier now than when she was younger, and I agree that her style is in keeping with having older conservative parents and the background she is from. Diana dressed rather hideously IMO prior to her marriage. Give the poor woman a chance to find her own space

Why would she speak fluent Dutch? It's not a mandatory language to learn in Belgium, and she attended schools in French-language areas. I assume she knows some of it, just like she presumably can get by in Russian, what with her time in Moscow. Once you encounter a langugage on a regular basis, you pick up the basics, but no more than that unless you actively study it.

French, English and German are the ones to be expected - her mother tongue, English because in Europe you can't possibly escape it once you're on university level, and German because she studied it. The next one she's going to have to master is Letzebuergesch, no way around that one.

why shouldn't she? she attended a dutch speaking primary school after all.

besides, dutch (or french) is a mandatory course in belgian schools.

I thought she could only become "grand duchesse heritiere" when Henri proclaims it? When did it happen?

Chriss, my understanding from Stephanie's engagement interviews is that she has some knowledge of Dutch but is not fluent. This is what she told a reporter with her own mouth so I have no clue why the Court would describe her as fluent unless she has become fluent in the last 6-7 mos.  Thinking

As for Russian, I have heard that she has a fair command of the language but is not completely fluent in it.

French, German and English she speaks with complete fluency...Russian and Dutch she can speak but not fluently, and she is learning Luxembourgish.

Her new husband Guillaume is completely fluent in five languages...English, French, German, Spanish and Luxembourgish.

Sugs are claiming she became automatically the Hereditary Grand Duchess when she married Gui. Does anyone know more about this? I'm puzzled.  Thinking

That makes two of us. I have read on too many Boards to mention that it is not an automatic title, but is done by decree.

Maybe things have changed. Thinking

Yes, I was wondering about that too. The English-language version states she earned a degree at Leuven University.
The french version states she  has a "license". I assume this is the equivalent of a master degree?

license is the equivalent of a bachelor degree. they do not mention a masters degree but they say that she continued her studies in berlin.it also mentions the subject that i guess she wrote on as her graduation paper. but they do not say what she graduated with.

If that is the case then, I doubt she has completed a masters degree. If she had, they would have mentioned it. She must have started it, but never completed it.

I've just checked, according to good old Wikipedia, it says that Step has completed a master's degree, but it dosen't state where. I find it odd that there is such ambiguity about it. It almost looks like they have something to hide.

Also, it states that she is just fluent in French, German and English.

If she completed an education there, she should be able to cast some spells on Mosh. Spiteful
