They do it because it works as you can see ^^ Snare It's a highly efficient way of preventing real research into shadier members of the RF. Typically the victim is a younger royal - we see this also with Joachim, with Harry or even Charles who is vilified to the n'th degree with little to no reseach on William and Andrew.

Chris has no reason to sue Expressen. The question is easy why is he not paying his taxes. His so called company is bleeding money, how do they support them self

I think the familys money problem explains why Madeleine suddenly loves being a princess and love Sweden.

The family will move back, no way Madeleine likes being "nobody" in the UK.

It is the Swedish people who put the food at the familys table.

Obviously you did not study the links/info given in this thread? The taxes are not owed for the company in question, but for a property commonly owned with others in Florida.
So Chris is not the only debtor there, and neither we nor Expressen know the reason for not paying, and, more important, this is real estate, so there's an asset against the tax debt.

The company, in turn, has no known tax liability, as it made a loss and is thus not liable for profit taxes. But this is not his only company (the FS published for this company clearly states that it belongs to a group of companies, as the debts are towards "related parties"), it's only the one publicly discussed/of which figures are available.
Neither we nor Expressen knows what those other companies earn - and that is why it is simply bad journalism / lack of research to pick only this one and spin a subversive story suggesting him being bankrupt and/or depending on his BIL.

Expressen is reporting that Chris has paid his tax debts of SEK 359,000 (about $40,000). He paid them two days after Expressen wrote about it April.

Great, this looks like he "reacted" to the article.   No

Is it so creepy to me they are attacking him like this and looking into his personal finances and such. Can't he sue? No?

The royal court's strange defense of Chris O'Neill

Chris O'Neill's scandals have repeatedly been revealed by the media.
Nevertheless, the court chooses to bury their head in the sand and blindly defend princess Madeleine's husband.
- There are a lot of things that are not true, says information manager Margareta Thorgen.

https://stoppapressarna.s...a-forsvar-av-chris-oneill

When the host of Idol, Gina Dirawi, 26, told an ironic joke about the royal family in live broadcast it caused a big outcry.
"I think everyone makes bad choices. Just look at Madde and Chris, things don't always go the way you thought it would, she said, making the public laugh.

Gina Dirawi would not have done that. Because now the court comments on how they perceive jokes made against the royal family and the judgement is not gracious.
"Of course the court has a constant media coverage, and as soon as there is something not true, or violating, the information department reacts," says their information manager Margareta Thorgren to Expressen.

Since Chris O'Neill, 43, married Princess Madeleine, 35, the British businessman has ended up in a series of scandals. Media has reported on everything from how he has pointed his finger to photographers, challenged his wife's ex-Jonas Bergström to a drinking battle at the pub to how he neglected to pay his taxes in the United States. Stoppa pressarna has also revealed how the princess' husband has behaved improperly at Stureplan. Chris has snapped his fingers at the staff, something Madeleine sharply told her husband to stop doing.

But despite the endless embarrassing Chris moments, the royal court chooses to bury their head in the sand.
The Head of Information, Margareta Thorgren, claims that Chris O'Neill has been subjected to harsh attacks.
"It's a sad thing, of course. Here the media plays a certain role, and most times they make accusations that are not true", she says.

But exactly what it is that is not true about Chris, Thorgren chooses not to tell. A long-time reporter who Stoppa pressarna has spoken to is astonished by her actions.
"When Margareta Thorgren took office at the court she expressed a wish that she wanted more of an open dialogue with the media and signaled that there would be more transparency. But apparently not. She says A but not B. It is extremely unprofessional. She should learn from their former press officer Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg. She was a professional and would never act in this way.

The royal court - albeit indirectly - defended Madeleine and Chris for once?  Good.  It is long overdue.

Yeah, it should have been done a long time ago.

Margareta Thorgren also said to Expressen:
- People comment on things, there's nothing we can do about that. But I, who know the royal family very well, can say that a lot of those things are not true. And that is constantly a dilemma.

Well ... Chris is a modern 21st century guy who does not fit into the royal fairly tale world. I would not be surprised if he was a republican to the core. He is clever enough to keep that to himself. And he was clever enough not even attempt to enter the fairy tale world by accepting a title.

Most likely it was Madde who wanted her kids having a title and Chris who did not say "no". By not playing according to their rules, he is basically a danger. While the snake kind of whitewashes herself and re-invents herself over and over and takes all opportunities to have articles and photo-ops Chris is exactly the opposite. He does not care. He does not care if he is papped smoking, wearing jogging trousers.

Some of his actions were not wise (middle finger). But in fairness, all his so-called "scandels" are none.

This headline is a demonstration of why the media wonders why people hate them...

Whenever I see this thread pop up I wonder "What did Snakey leak about Chris now?"

They probably see him as dangerous because he did not fully accept the conditions of a royal marriage: total absorption into the family. Prince Chris would probably have to live in Sweden 100% of the time, give up his business and do lots of events with or without Madeleine. Since he is only maybe 25% involved due to his wife and children being princ/ess, it seems to enrage the press that he can't be held to the same standard as Daniel (but somehow Sofia gets a pass?!). I wonder if the Swedish press are mainly just mad that she didn't marry a Swedish man since her siblings married Swedes.

Look how badly Daniel is/ was treated at times. It would not make a lot of a difference. I am not sure if his education would outweight the fact that he is not Swedish.

What went seriously wrong (PR wise) was the introduction of Chris. That "da da" video was just stupid. People did not get to know him. Then the bad press started and people just believed it. If they had given one proper interview, things would have been different.

They have been interviewed properly. As properly as royalty are.

Excuse me, Stoppapresarna.  The only embarrassing thing going on is the SRF's blind defense of Hoefia and the numerous shady things she's done over the years, including buying an apartment in South Africa with taxpayer money.  Why aren't you looking into this instead?

Chris is an independent person.  He chose to turn down a title, royal role, etc.  He pays his own bills and earns his own money.  The king's idiot son and his shady trashy wife, however, do not.  Why aren't you looking into them?  If you were real journalists, you would.
