My best guess would be...

Boy - George (but not a karma chameleon)

Girl - Alexandra

These are standard, but still widely used royal names. I don't think they'll stray from the norm.

Alexandra or Charlotte for a girl. I wouldn't be surprised if they defer Diana in the middle to a younger daughter, assuming they have more than one child. Alexandra Elizabeth Mary Caroline.

Hoping for John if a boy - isn't 797 years long enough to ban it as a name for an heir (plus the Spencer knife twisting in the Windsor gut)? Or, maybe they could name the child Richard, if the bones prove to be RIII. Can you imagine Lilibet's reaction? Or might she be pleased, knowing how well-versed she is in her heritage? Just not George. Please.

I never thought Vikkan would go so off the wall as to name her daughter Estelle, but the BRF is not as out of control as the SRF. Besides, I believe the queen still has to approve the name, even in this day and age. I do expect something we've all seen before.

Considering the names some of the royals have used, I think it's a good idea. I still think Estelle is a dumb name for a future Swedish queen and Frederik and Mary have been all over the place with their namings too IMO.

I agree that a future Swedish Queen should not be named Estelle and while Fred and Mary were all over the map at least the heir has the very expected and traditional name of Christian.  I'll give them that much.

I personally agree that Will and Kate are unimaginative and traditional - it will be a very traditional name.  That said, a girl could be named MARY  Shocked

The Danish press would no doubt say it was in honour of our Mares, but in the rest of the world, it would probably only mean that Mares would be even more in the shadow of the DGOD (dear granddaughter of Diana) - I wouldn't mind that at all.. Whistle

If he wants to be king someday, he'd better.  Nono

That information could be inscribed at the base of Mary's statue too.
