Considering that there were many women having their first child in their 30s at that time it isn't true that it was believed that an older woman would have trouble conceiving.  It was the 1980s - not the 1780s after all.

Many women were marrying into their late 20s even then and having children with no problems.

My own sister-in-law married the following year aged 29 and there was never any thought that she wouldn't have a child.

We are talking after the first successful IVF children were born etc.

My friends and I were in our mid-20s in 1981 and none of us were worried that we wouldn't be able to conceive if we waited another 5 or so years to marry - making us 29/30 - the age at which we all married.

That idea is just total garbage.

Yes IVF was first done in 1978 but it was not as useful as it is today nor as common. There has been talk of whether Kate would be able to conceive naturally because of her age and that was in 2012. I disagree with your statement. Why else would Charles choose a 19 year old girl, a teenager? Was he just a dirty old man looking for a child? No I think he married with the heir and spare in mind.

Age isn't a always the reason that some women don't or have difficulties conceiving. Usually, it because of other factors, such a gyno problems unrelated to their age, being underweight or overweight, history of smoking, or STDs. Young women can't or have difficulties conceiving.

I never read anything that indicated that Kate would difficulty conceiving because of her age.

So just because Chales or Will marry a very young woman, it's no certainty that they will give them an heir.

That is absolutely true! Yes
I would have loved to have seen Diana give Carole Middleton a run for her money.

If Princess Diana were alive today, in which country would she be residing in? England? The United States?

I am not so sure.
Good question, should that be the case, wouldn't this thread be closed?  Huh? I know we can't discuss her in other areas but I wonder what happens in this one for instance.

IMO, she would be aging  gracefully. She would be 57 to 58 and I think she would look beautiful.

She would have been a difficult mother-in-law no matter who her sons married.

My first question goes to both Camilla and Charles marriage, will that ever happened? He was a widow, so there was nothing on its way to marrying again but Camilla's own divorced status. Especially given he is going to be, someday, Head of The Church, a divorced remarried head of a church? Well, Henry VIII did that, but we are not in those days anymore.

Then, regarding what you said. She was a piece of work in more than one way, that we can all agree, but their children managed to keep a good memory of her because she was a good mom. However, she didn't get to be there during those very difficult teen years, I wonder how that would have played out... Especially with Harry. Charles did manage to be there, and get them in line, again, especially with Harry.
It pretty much depends on how things ended back in 1997, having she finally married Dodi, losing her status altogether, got to be less interesting to the media, and finally accepting that or going nuts about not being cared anymore. It's either one of two scenarios.

Diana was born in a clearly defined upper class family and most of the girls did the same: go to an exclusive school, marry someone of importance (with money), give birth, ... She did not really have any other role models. Plus: her own family was broke and she longed for "the perfect family" - which hardly ever exists. She was too young and unexperienced to see that the marriage which sounded wonderful would not be good for her, she would just become a part of the firm. She majored then, after the seperation and managed to connect to many people. She genuinely loved her kids. But she was at a point where she was able to make major decisions about her life. Sadly this was the point when her life ended.

We don't know how she would have developped. Going into the "I am living for humantiy causes" person. It would have depended on a new and happy partnership for her (and I am not sure if Dodi had been that man, I am afraid he wasn't). It would have been brilliant if she had found happiness and was able to let go - also Charles and Camilla (OT: I always admired Camilla's husband with how much grace he managed his end of the story, even though apparently he was not a faithful husband, either).

Andrew Parker-Bowles was/is a notorious 'swordsman' who laid any woman he could, including the Princess Royal. Not sure I would describe him as admirable.
