Prince Joachim of Athena: She enjoys life

Proud Prince Joachim says happy about his little charmer Princess Athena.

Today, Prince Joachim celebrate his beautiful wife's birthday. Princess Marie fills namely 37 years.

And as the mother of Prince Joachim's two youngest children, get Marie certainly a lot of birthday kisses and hugs from his two charmers Henrik and Athena.

Two weeks ago it was Princess Athena was celebrated by his proud parents, and it was also clearly happy Prince Joachim who told how Athena was doing.

- She has not started to walk yet. But we can see that she enjoys life, and so she babbles on for dear life, told Prince Joachim to RoyalDish related to Princess Athena's first birthday.

And Prince Joachim could also reveal that he's perfectly fine with the fact that she has notstarted walking yet.

- It's okay if she hasn't started walking yet. There are many advantages to that, said Prince Joachim with a smile.

Today celebrates Athena's mother as her birthday, and it will be interesting to hear about Marie got her hands full, or the Athena remained stable.

Maybe her parents liked the name?  Mary and Fred's kids have a mix of Anglo, Danish, French and Greenlandic names.  I don't think they look for everything to be uniform, linguistically-speaking, when they decide on the names.

It's not that uncommon.  My first name is Greek, my middle name is French and my last name is Italian.  It happens.

My first name is Slavic although used in many languages with different spellings (Natalija), my first middle name is Welsh and my second middle name is Anglo.

Parents tend to pick names they like or mean something, nothing weird about it.

Her name is simply a combination of family names and a name they just liked.

Re the french version of Margrethe, Marguerite. One of the biggest movie actresses from the days of black/white movies in Denmark was called Marguerite Viby. It's not completely unheard of.

IIRC, Marie & Joachim said in an interview, that both liked the name Athena (independently) before they knew they were expecting the little munchkin.

so they chose a first name they both liked - and everything else is the French version of family member's names

Marguerite = Daisy,    Françoise = Marie's mum,    Marie = Mum

Then name - when read out loud - has a nice flow to it.
