I saw somebody in another thread (can't remember who or which thread, sorry

) wonder whether the diamond daisy brooch Diana wore (

Well, today I went to the library (and am quite convinced I saw Mary's Tanja there) and got a book about the Danish royal jewels, and it had a bit in it about the brooch which really touched me so I thought I'd share it.
QMII's brooch never belonged to her grandmother. It was created for Ingrid by the Swedish jeweller Carlman for her wedding day as a way of remembering her mother on such an important day (you kind of wish William would have chosen find a similar way to involve his mother at his wedding instead of just giving Kate her ring). It's made of 238 diamond cut and 444 rose cut diamonds set in platinum. She wore it on her right shoulder:

Anyway, when QMII wore it for her wedding it was as her "something borrowed", and the brooch actually wasn't given to her until she turned 60, just a few months before Ingrid died.
