with the death of Constantine II of Greece, Danes are asking questions.
Question taken from the article of January 17, 2023 - by Frederikke Mortensen
- "How come the Danish royal house still uses the title king of the former king Constantine, when Count Nikolai, Count Felix, Countess Athena, and Count Henrik have been stripped of their old titles prince and princess at the end of the year?"
The royal correspondent, Jacob Heinel Jensen has an explanation for this:
- "When we still have a royal house, it is the queen who can dictate, decide and decide to withdraw the titles. In case we don't have a Royal House, you can use the titles however you want. But we have that in Denmark. The Queen is the supreme authority as head of state and monarch, and so she can make that decision."
History concerning the title of "Prince of Greece and Denmark
- "In Denmark, in 1863, the son of King Christian IX, who was called Vilhelm and who was "Prince of Denmark" became King of Greece under the name of Georg I."
- "The titles of Princes and Princesses of Greece and Denmark have been given to dynastic members of the Hellenic Royal Family since the accession to the throne of Danish King Georg I in 1863."
- "Until 1953, male descendants of Georg I were possible successors to the throne of Denmark."
- "However, no Danish law has ever revoked the use of the princely title for the descendants of Georg I, King of the Hellenes, nor for those living since 1953, nor for those subsequently born or married within the Royal Family of Greece."

Again, she rather cuts the Danish connection of her grandchildren and bestows some fictitious French countendom, rather than removing the 'Danish" addendum of the Greek titles for her extended RF.
I don’t think she has any influence over the so called Greek titles... they were established when the first King was created
