Noordeinde Palace wants to open its doors to the public on a working day next year. In the summer, the palace is open four Saturdays, but those tickets sell out well in advance.

Director of Royal Collections Claudia Hörster says it is "certainly the aim" to look at more options for admitting the public.

The 11,000 tickets available for all Saturdays are sold out and according to Hörster there is more demand than supply. The main problem with opening more often is the logistics. There is staff at work on weekdays and that is disturbed by the many visitors.


In the summer months, Hörster sees the opportunity to give the public a look behind the scenes during the week: "Perhaps we can find a way in which an audience can come without the staff being disturbed in their work. Then we should, for example, look at the route of the tour."

It is the first time since 2019 that the work palace of King Willem-Alexander opens its doors. Due to corona, the open days have been canceled for the past two years.
