And that she came to hate her hairstyle in her later years, but since the King was quite partial of this style, she felt duty-bound to keep it?
She had to dress the same way too. She wanted to shorten her skirts after WWI and did a test run on a lady in waiting, to see the king's reaction. It didn't go well, so her skirts stayed long. Not until after he died did they come up a few inches.
