It's really a shame that the only recording of her voice was destroyed... at her request. It would have been cool to hear that famed 'tinkly' voice.

this is a cute video...don't know why, but I can easily imagine Lizzy scolding somebody, when listening to her voice

I find it cute too, PeDe.  Star
"It's the emotion, perhaps." says Queen mother.  Laugh bounce
I think that QEII's voice is little high pitched like Victoria's in the scratchy example..

Surely in this day and age some audio engineer could clean up that alleged recording so we could hear it clearly.

I like the fact that some ladies have their umbrellas/parasols folded and that these are being used almost like the walking sticks of the men.

^What exactly is the point of pulling up a thread where you yourself made the last post, 6 years ago!

Someone just recently joined and was banned for doing the same. I don't understand why this poster has been getting away for the same behavior for so long.  It's one of the reasons I don't read this forum as often as I would like.

Whoa! That was not why the person was banned at all. Personally I like CS bumping up some of these old threads, I see nothing in the forum rules against it.

I've always loved the art of parasol handles, I think women did indeed use them as a kind of walking stick.

Later, Queen Alexandra and Queen Mary began to acquire Faberge parasol handles that were truly miniature pieces of sculpture.
