wow, some of these are real doozies, as we would say.  I think that without a doubt the worst hat the Queen every wore was for Prince Charles' investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969. Of course the coronet he had to wear was almost as bad.

Very glam:

I love that hat. Love the look. Wowza!

That woman has some amazing hats. With that kind of volume, you're bound to have a few misses. Though I have an odd fondness for the string cheese one.

She truly is the Queen of Hats.

Star  Rasputin, thanks for finding such treasures in the hat box!
This one is the most odd to me - almost horn like.  Crazy

In contrast...

I love looking back at her old looks. The Queen was actually quite daring with her hats and outfits, and it reminds you how young she was when she came to the throne. I love the red lipstick she used to wear, very glam!

That said, some things should have stayed in the wardrobe...

I think the Queen had three fashion eras
No#1 when she was a young woman, she was darling, glam and sometimes even daring, but she looked absolutely fab.
No#2 in her middle age: no words for that! Her hats looked either like old ladies bathing caps or a joke, she had the old matronly clothes to match. But alas she quite often frowned and didn't appear to have a happy time at all (who would with the mirror reflecting an image like that?)
No#3 her hhm old age, transformed into everybody's darling grandmother, sweet, lovely with adorable clothes, the loveliest smile and ready for a cuddly hug.

Anyone want to hazard a guess on how many hats she owns? Given that the BRF members don't seem to pass clothes around the way, say, the Dutch do, what happens to all these hats? I know that sometimes they're retrimmed, but still, that's a hell of a lot of hats.

I bet I can remember every single hat I've ever owned in my life. Bet she can't.

It's got to be hundreds, if not thousands! And how many fab diamond brooches does she have?
