Looks like a spiderweb in her hair. And the earrings are equally ugly.

On the contrarie, I believe this was one of her best appearences. I quite like this headpiece and the dress suited her nicely even though it was a little bit out of place, considering the circumstances.

I believe this was borrowed for the event - free advertising for the designer.

I pictured dandruff in my head, I had to google it first, to see it's meaning - thankfully I didn't come across any actual pic of it! Tongue

I love Sonja but really

And can you believe Harold had that made for her?  What was he thinking?

It was a gift for her 60th birthday in 1997 - which is so odd since this looks like something from the early 80s! The centre motif is interchangeable, and it has several coordinating necklaces.

Queen Sonja looks very nice wearing the Gold Tiara. How many other royal and aristocratic ladies have a gold tiara?

I can't hate the Naasut tiara -yet.  I think it's the contrast with Daisy's gray hair and the bright, bright gold of the tiara, that doesn't suit it.

That's no shade on the Queen - it's just a design flaw, as it were.  I think it would also call for a real updo - you can't put a tiara that size on a flat head of hair.

I long to see the Naasut tiara on someone with a rich brown head of updo hair ... that will be Mary, eventually, I suppose (deep sigh).  I reserve total judgment on it until that time ...

What would be hilarious to me is if Mary said, "oh yes let Isabella wear the Naasut" for a formal occasion once she & Fred are in power, thinking that it would be ugly on her and it turned out to be absolutely stunning & got all the attention 😄

Agreed, the Nassut tiara needs some help to conclude about it, grey hair, yellow teeth and Daisy wears it with diamond and pearl jewels, which clash awfully. On dark hair and worn with other gold jewels I think it can work. Im sure it will stay with the monarch as it was a gift to Daisy from Greenland, she cant ship that of to minor royals residing in france…i think Mary could make it work

I belive Daisy said in the catalogue about her jewels  about the poppies she love the idea and work, but it has turned out difficult to wear. I think she should dismantle it, and give one flower each to her daughters in law and grandchildren. They can be beautiful brooches and hair ornamanets, and the moonstone drops can be earrings. The necklace and coordinating earrings are also a bit much and need a rework.

I think Sonjas gold tiara work for her, she suits gold and wears it with coordinating gold jewels unlike Daisy. She loves modern jewel more as she gets older it seems, and love big statement modern jewels. I think the green senter stone is the least sucessful combination. Martha Louise who has the same colors also could make it work, it will not suit Mette-Marits colors at all.

Do you mean the Albanians?  Their tiaras always have a goat somewhere on 'em.

This one? it's quite pretty if you can ignore the goat.

Yes 😀 I like the floral base but maybe it can be modified so the goat is optional and can be detached. But not sure how many tiara occasions in that family? Are they even invited to the other “ex royal” get togethers ?
