The empress shuddered, for she knew that they were right, but she thought, "The procession must go on!" She carried herself even more proudly, and the chamberlains walked along behind carrying the train that wasn't there.

I read somewhere that Astrid told her children that she was able to pick up American radio with one "wing" and Russian with the other.  I love her sense of humor--she's one of the few royals with whom I think I would like to hang out!

At least it can be worn without the center stone and she has other stones she can change it out with  Smiley I guess that's a good thing

Victoria's birthday tiara.
http://atiaraaday.blogspo...ss-victoria-birthday.html

Is it  convertible into a necklace?
Not quite there for a tiara, but could be a nice-ish necklace.

Sophie Wessex's wedding tiara is a real dog's dinner, in my opinion.  Thank heavens Liz is lending her a few more these days.

I actually don't mind most of the tiaras shown/discussed above (I actually kind like Vic's little steel thingy--very Napoleonic). But I do think Sonja's Star Trekky monstrosity is hideous, and Sophie's wedding tiara is pretty damn bad as well.

Don't forget the tiara Marge got from Greenland

Though it does match her teeth

Wow, alongside the terrible tiara of Queen Maud and the red stoned tiara Sonja wears, the Midnight tiara looks utterly adorable!
It is the first time that I've seen Mary pairing it with a colour complimentary to the unusual tiara.

Some of the other tiaras here I quite like also - I like the eccentricity of the Rosenborg star tiara and the large 'floral' baby bonnet shaped tiara.  Thumb up
Victoria looks so much better in Lilian's tiara than the one pictures here.

I'm waiting for someone with golden hair to wear the Greenland tiara with style.

Gorgeous aquamarine tiara, wish there was a better photo of it.

I don't like Sonja's tiara but I do like the idea of being able to change the center stone

The top pic looks like something out of a vajazzling craft project.
