What does it say for the world economy when two people who are as well-connected as you could possibly get can't get/keep jobs?

To be fair, sometimes those turn out to be the worst workers

What does it say about two  grown adults that have had good jobs, redundancy payments ect that Daddy has to buy them a house? Surely they can fund a house themselves or is it a advance on the inheritance for Alexandra . Thinking

 Sad  So sad.
Many families are feeling the pinch and Alexandra and her husband are obviously not immune.
I bet they are battling a bit of depression.
Hopefully they will both find work soon.
Best of luck to them; a move back to Germany is a major change.

No I suspect that they didn't since they might have got their jobs because of their ahrm...connections.

They have lived in Paris for a long time.  Paris is a very large, and very glamorous place.  It sounds like they've moved to a small town in Germany.  That would be quite a change in pace and environment from Paris.

This is from the Scandinavian Royals Message Board.  I never knew anything about Jefferson, so it is pretty interesting reading:

Mainz is where Count Jefferson was born and grew up, and I suppose his parents still live there. He earned his first money as dishwasher at an old French restaurant in Mainz. In 1993 he graduated from the European Business School in London and then started his career as an investment banker working with Paribas Capital Markets in London and Frankfurt. He went on to spend time at Exane (later known as Exane BNP Paribas) and ABN AMRO in Paris and London, where he ended up as Head of Equity Sales before switching to Julius Bär Brokerage in 2000. The following seven years he worked for Julius Bär and its successor company Kepler Equities in Paris, where he ended as Head of Continental European Sales. In 2007 he became managing director of the Cologne-based bank Sal. Oppenheim's new Paris office.

In 1990-91 Princess Alexandra took an eductation at the Inchbald School of Design in London and then studied at Christie's Education in London 1991-92. She later graduated from the University College of London with a bachelor's degree in arts and anthropology. She went on to work in the Department of Antiquities in Jordan and in the Galerie Dorothea van der Koelen in Mainz - before she came to UNESCO in Paris in the mid 1990s. In her position as "Programme Specialist" it was her job to counsel about preservation of cultural and world heritage in Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste.

I have always thought Jefferson was an odd name for a German count.  Does anybody know the background of his name?

I'd also like to know more about his family.  He's got a title, but do they have money?  I don't recall ever hearing anything about them at all.

I've never felt Jefferson was a bad egg but it does seem somewhat strange to me that he can't find a new job Confused But obviously everyone can be hit with a depression and loosing you job is very stressful.

From what I've heard, they've got money, but they're not super rich. It's just rumours though, nothing I'm absolutely sure of...

Do they ever spend time with his family?  I know they're probably private people, but I was wondering if Alexandra got along well with her in-laws.  Jefferson seemed to get along just fine with the SWBs (until the alleged "fight" with Richard).
