Did any of Richard's three children come to Denmark for his operation?
In the Billed Bladet article about it, I read that Benedikte and Alexandra were with him before and after the surgery and that Gustav and Nathalie visited with him later after the surgery. Benedikte has been doing engagements in Denmark, so she is still there with him as he recovers in Copenhagen.

What language did she speak to the seniors in? It doesn't say, but my guess is that she spoke to them in English. I don't think she can speak German. It sounds like she brought the dogs into the room, and that the dogs tried to steal some food or something. I love dogs, but I sincerely hope that they weren't running around the room during the lunch. Not all people love dogs, and there were a lot of people in attendance. I doubt she asked each of them in advance if they were okay with dogs. Her dogs are rather big, I think. Maybe that was just the writer's attempt to be cutesy.

Also big dogs can trip up or knock down an older person. She should not have brought them, IMO. I adore my dogs but I would never bring them to a public function. Anything can happen.

I agree. My dog is only 20 pounds and I still wouldn't just let him walk around a group of people who aren't his family during a luncheon. I absolutely love dogs, but even I understand that not all people feel the same. I know better than to just let my dog freely walk around random people. It's not a responsible thing to do. It could be dangerous for the dogs as well as for the people. Sounds like TEEF has taken a cue from the Mosh school of dog care (Mosh's dog is always off the leash, even on busy streets with lots of traffic). Very irresponsible.

She is irresponsible. To me, bringing the dogs into the function is a deliberate act to demean the gathering. Totally, uncaring.

Agreed! It was rude, vulgar, and low class. She wanted the attention to be all on her and not on her guests, and she used the dogs to accomplish that. Moreover - she knows that these dogs trip people up! They tripped HER up and she broke her ankle - remember she showed up at some event in a granny pantsuit and on a cane/crutches? The very least you can say is that she is thoughtless in letting those doggies in. And I'm a dog lover.....big time.

I forgot about her broken ankle She's got to be the most selfish person in the world to bring those dogs into a room filled with elderly people.

Prince Richard, husband of Princess Benedikte, celebrated his 80th Birthday on October 29. He decided to celebrate this milestone quietly and in private.

http://herognu.dk/kongeli...-til-jul-hos-dronningen-/Therefore, Prince Richard not to Christmas with Queen There was a special reason why Prince Richard wasn't at Fredensborg Castle this year It's no secret that Prince Richard is better in hunting boots in Berleburg than in patent leather shoes on the polished floors in Denmark. But that was not why he and his wife parted at Christmas, where Princess Benedikte waved goodbye to him to dance around the Christmas tree at Fredensborg Palace, along with 37 family members, as Queen Margrethe had managed to gather for a grand familie festivity. With the party was also Princess Benedikte and Prince Richard's eldest daughter, Princess Alexandra, with her husband, Count Jefferson, and their two children. - Prince Richard was too tired to help, and it is legal in his age. But he is doing well, said Princess Benedikte HER&NU for Christmas. Prince Richard is with its 80 years peers with Prince Henrik, and he is still active in its vast forests around Berleburg Castle, which he operates with his son, Prince Gustav. In 2003, Prince Richard hit by serious cancer, which he overcame, and last December he underwent at the hospital elective surgery for aortic aneurysm. Although Princess Benedikte and Prince Richard for the first time in their soon as 47 years long marriage did not celebrated Christmas together, he was not home alone. Also Prince Gustav and his girlfriend, Carina Axelsson was in Berleburg together with heavily pregnant princess Nathalie and her husband, Alexander Johannsmann and their four year old son, Constantine.

IIRC, Richard has stated in the media that he doesn't care for all the royal pomp and circumstance in DK. He's made comments in the vein of, "That's more my wife's thing." I'm not surprised that he wasn't all that excited for the Marge show. Actually, I can't blame him.
I am surprised that Gustav and Carina didn't go. They never seem to mind the Danish family gatherings.
