And they've landed!

Mathilde in Armani

Followed by a coat which is both a bit frumpy but also rather nice:

I like the second coat even better than the first one. But I'm all for that asian style.

I think the two coats are good choices- nods to the country you are visiting without being costume-y.

By the way, yet another reason I could never be a royal: Walking down a flight of stairs this high in front of dignitaries, the military, the press, without stumbling. I couldn't do it.

/\ I mean, I probably could do it, but I'd prefer to take the jet bridge and have a last look in duty free before shaking VIP hands

That print is beautiful!  But the non-matched fabric on the sleeve seam is driving me nuts.

I agree, Anastasia ( Star), but I don't know how you would match it

More from their visit to the Furniture Museum where they took part in a Korean Tea Ceremony

...

By just not cutting the sleeves raglan-style with the seam on the outside but instead cutting them from one piece of fabric with the seam on the underside of the arm, and insert them like it is done at a normal blazer/jacket ...?

This is the style I like Mathilde best, the style she does best ... mother-of-the-bride-ish, but very regal. Clean cuts, fitted, but not too tight, classic sheet dresses with matching coat, modest patterns, clear colours.

Every time she tries more 'edgy' or fashionable than this, it becomes weird or Natan.

It's strange, but she always looks best when she dresses like a woman ten years her senior would do. Maybe it's because this style, like in Korea, brings her 'closer' to him, so they look more like a couple.

The heavy hairspray for ultimate helmet hair is accompanying Mathilde on this trip?

Thanks a Kaiserin!  Star I knew you would have a good answer!

I think itís some kind of requirement for Belgian queens. Must be a windy country.

At the Korean War Memorial

Mathilde looks smart but very rigid. And yes, Principessa, the helmet hair is back. It looked so good a few weeks ago, much softer. But hey ho. Mathilde is sixteen years younger than M-T of Lux. I don't know whether it's refreshing or odd that she doesn't dress her age. She always looks smart and mostly looks appropriate and definitely looks closer to her husband's age.

Anyway, a close-up of Mathilde's bandeau
