I like that Phil recognises the connection between the crimes in the Congo and modern day racism, but think this is too big an issue to reconcile with a letter alone. Working with Congolese and Belgian people to create a memorial to replace a Leopold statue would be a good start, though

Filip and Mathilde went on a bicycle trip with their children and a friend yesterday and ended up having a pasta in a local restaurant.

Love this - The family that bikes together....!

The Dutch RF is know for the same, but yeah Dutch and their bicycles Wink

The Belgian royals, I mean Til, Phil & kids can come across as boring. But they have their attitude, standards and all set well. Their children come across as well behaved, loved and raised well. A loving family.

Considering how messy Albert and Paola have been, I think boring and loving is a great accomplishment..

Nominate your Belgian coronavirus hero and the 4 winners will have an audience with King Phil.

(Tempted to pretend I did something amazing just so I can have a nose around the Royal Palace. I mean, I pretty much kept Godiva chocolates in business. Is that enough?)

That and your tireless work on behalf of tiny house plants make you a shoo-in.

Good King Phil in his spiffy summer finery to visit Vzw Roeland. They run language holidays for young people in Ghent to work on their Dutch. Check out those blue socks!

I will pay good money to see Mathilde holding some uno cards, it would confirm 10000% that she is the most down to earth Queen of the lot.

Good King Phil visiting Liege Airport in a spiffy pink tie. My Boo was there to learn how the airport is managing flights and cargo in these trying times

That actually sounds like an interesting engagement (not sure how many really are interesting after a while). Good for them for keeping it up!
