The baby was born in LA, so I doubt we'll see many pics yet...

I am not a fan of the name but nice addition of Elizabeth.  Does Sophie have relatives called Elizabeth or do we reckon it's after Lilibet?  I suppose Maud Windsor sounds nice but what is Daphne all about?  That has to be after a relative!

Fingers crossed she takes after her pretty mother and doesn't have her dad's drug eyes.   Thumb down

I hate the fact that as a non-native speaker of English I don't realise many things that stand behind certain names. I'm sure this one seems a bit old-fashioned (if you look at the statistics and I have no doubt that the feelings of many dishers have some ground), but the sound of Maud is really pretty and I see nothing wrong with it. Plus I have always loved Lucy MAUD Montgomery.

Why does it have to be for a relative? We're not talking about someone remotely close to the throne. We have everything from Savannah to Cossima, to Senna and Tannae, and multiple unique to say the least first names. Daphne as a middle name, quite lovely, nothing unique. Greek name, perhaps speaks to his Greek grandmother's roots, who knows.

Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina is a quaint and gorgeous name.
Feminine yet royal; great meanings and historical connections and it sounds melodic.
I love the choice!  Thumb up

Maud. Eek.

What are the odds she'll go by Daphne or Marina? Both of which are quite nice, old names without "sounding" old-fashioned.

True, it is old fashioned.
I've just remembered that Martha Louise's first daughter is named Maud Angelica.
I wonder whether she has opted to be called Angelica?
As you say, TexasBear   Star , Maud Windsor does have plenty of options if Maud is not suitable for her.
I think that she will be a good looking child as well as well mannered and well connected and so Maud might become a fashionable name perhaps in her neighbourhood. ?  Thinking

I could see Daphne,a bit younger fresher. Even if raised in LA, has two cousins named Marina, I could see her avoiding it.

I was wondering the same thing.

Maud just "sounds" ugly to me. There are old fashioned names that don't sound so unpleasant. I'd rank Maud sound wise with names like Hortense,Gertrude,Blanche(no offense to Ms.Deveraux),and Ethel.

I quite like Maud, but only because it reminds me of one of my favourite films...

and of course the saintly Mrs Flanders (RIP)
