I was watching an old episode of Two 1/2 men, and made me think of the next BRF baby. Sophie should be due here in the next week or so right  Thinking

Prince and Princess Michael must be excited about their first grandchild.

I am thinking it will be a little boy. Could see it being a year of boys, three little boy Windsor cousins as playmates (with George and Zara's baby)  Hug

It was reported on a royal mag that Prince and Princess Michael are flying out on the 8th of aug to LA so they'll be there for the birth of their first grandchild. Can't wait for the name and photos, surely Princess Michael will have photos released.

I love the vintage photograph of Alexandra and Michael as bridal attendants.  I can make out Elizabeth, Margaret and Queen Mary in the background.  The girls' bouquets seem to have a lot of daisies in them --implying the bride was named Margaret.  Do we have any idea as to her identity?

http://royalmusingsblogsp...marries-major-butter.html

According to the article, the other girl is Diana Herbert. Her mother Lady Herbert was lady in waiting to the Duchess of Kent.

Many of the royals and Mountbattans attended.

The bride Myra was the daughter of Lady Zia Werner, a morganatic great-granddaughter of Nicholas I of Russia. Myra's older sister is the mother of the Duchess of Abercom and Natalia Grovesnor, the Duchess of Westminster (will's godmother). Myra's Aunt, Zia's sister, was Prince Philip's Aunt by marriage. She was married to George, Marquess of Milford Haven, who was Philip's guardian for many years. Her own daughter Marilyn is married to the 17th Earl Dalhousie, chief of clan Ramsay.

It makes sense now why Michael and Alexander were in the wedding party. from royal musings

Queen Mary, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret and the Duchess of Kent attended the wedding of Miss Myra Alice Wernher, younger daughter of Sir Harold and Lady Wernher, to Major David Butter of the Scots Guards.   The ceremony took place at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster.
The bride was attended by Princess Alexandra and Prince Michael, younger children of the Duchess of Kent, and the Hon.  Diana Herbert, daughter of Lord and Lady Herbert, who is one of the Duchess of Kent's ladies in waiting.
Other guests at the wedding including Princess Andrew of Greece, Admiral the Hon. Sir Alexander and Lady Patricia Ramsay, Admiral Viscount Mountbatten and Viscountess Mountbatten of Burma, the Duchess of Atholl and the Earl and Countess of Strathmore.

The bride was given away by her father.  According to The Times,  Miss Wernher wore "a gown and train of shell-pink tulle heavily embossed with silver in a floral design and long tulle veil embroidered with silver, and she carried an ivory-bound Prayer book."
Prince Michael of Kent, as page, wore the Royal Stuart tartan kilt with a "white silk blouse and red shoes."  The two young bridesmaids, Princess Alexandra and the Hon. Diana Herbert were dressed in "shell-pink  tulle picture frocks, with head-dresses of mixed pink flowers, matching their bouquets."
The reception was held at the Dorchester Hotel.
Lady Wernher is the former Lady Zia Torby, elder daughter of the late Grand Duke Michael of Russia and Countess Sophie Torby.   Her sister, Nada, is married to Marquess of Milford Haven.  Princess Alice's sister, Crown Princess Louise of Sweden, is one of Myra's godparents.
