Certainly not unexpected, but definitely very sad news.  Bless the DRF and especially Mabel and his
daughters at this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.

As said in the other thread, it couldn't have gone any other way, really. While his passing is sad and his accident tragically preventable, this is a release from that hanging limbo his surviving family have been in since that awful day.

And yes, I believe that a meeting with the doctors triggered Bea's decision to abdicate, and triggered the move back to the Netherlands. I think many of us here believed that moving Friso home was a herald that there was no hope he'd even partially recover.

My heart goes out to the whole family. How very sad.

Sad news, but expected an given there was no chance for recovery, perhaps best for everyone in the long term and I hope his passing helps provide the closure needed for Mabel, Luana, Zaria and the rest of his family and friends to find peace and to move forward with their lives, which I'm sure Friso would have wanted.

As others have said, sad but not unexpected. Now the limbo has ended. The girls & their mother can start working towards rebuilding a life without him. It will be hard but I have no doubt that they will have the support of Bea & the rest of the family.

R.I.P. I hope his family gets enough privacy to mourn and I hope that Mabel will be allowed to move on with her life whenever she feels ready. It is sad that he died but it might be better now for his family, living in limbo must have been horrible for them. He was dead but not dead at the same time, do now they can finally start to mourn without having the feeling that mourning would mean to give up hope
