... Do it! It will show you that the colors you have probably gravitated toward and gotten compliments on all your life were correct. I honestly haven't deviated much from my palette ever. I just feel better in colors that work well with my skin and (now graying) hair.
This is what changes over time along with the abundance of hair. Hair gets lighter, then begins to acquire some gray ones now and then. Your skin tone also changes. Yet we remember ourselves and our 'best' colours in our minds. Once the gray hairs get more numerous, time to see the hairdresser about shifting the colour so it complements skin tone. And spending some time at the cosmetic store to see about shifting our makeup palette to complement current skin tone and hair. After that, time to re-evaluate our 'best' colors for clothes. Once all of these are harmonized, it makes you look and feel better about your public self. Keep in mind, it's takes time to adjust all of these things. Or go silver and look your beautiful self…

Jenny Packham 'Elodie' gown Don't like the fabric but the colour suits her. This reminds me of "US pageant contestant" with the clingy style and train at the back and the bling factor. This would have been an occasion for a rewear - most of the diplomats would never have seen her or her clothes previously - especially during Covid times. Would have been a good followup to the message being sent in Boston last week.

I love the colour as well, but no embroidery would have been more flattering.

Agreed, Barrie. Or selected embroidery, like around the neckline or sleeves or hem or all three but not all over the dress. Camilla’s clothes have this kind of selected embroidery and so did the late Queen. I think it’s an elegant approach to make an outfit distinctive without being over the top.

For me, this dress is very holiday-festive and appropriate. And I am glad to see her out of that deep forest green she seems to love so much.

Have we seen before the dress that Kate wore last night for KC’s birthday dinner? I don’t remember it.

For the most part I don't like the greens Kate chooses. Ever so often one will hit the mark, but this one, for example, is to my eyes, way too dark.

I agree with you. I've always thought that Kate could rock green if it's the right tone. I loved the dress she wore when pregnant with Louis and the sparkly one she wore in Pakistan, but her other green outfits have been a miss for me.

Nah, if it is green it is bound to be a winner in my book.

It looks rather blue/green on my screen, which I like very well. I wonder if she got the midi or long version. I quite like the midi length with the floaty unadorned band at the bottom.

It doesn't matter how old you get, buying snacks for a road trip should always look like an unsupervised 9-year-old was given $100. Anonymous
