I like the bodice part but the skirt, when photographed, reminds me of a toilet roll! But the footage of the dress in movement makes it look better. Also, nice to see her wearing an order, she looks less left out now!

Is this what you  had in mind?

Kind of....but I thought someone had been very creative and busy with paper tissues

Very similar! To me the ruffles resembled the toilet paper dress Sofia of Sweden wore at the 80th birthday celebrations in Norway.

Don't like all those ruffles but it's not as bad as some of things she has turned up in.

Honestly my favourite banquet dresses so far have been:

which I know a lot of people hated, but was interesting, a nice colour and a great fit. It was a total 80s revival and I loved it in retrospect. The jewellery was great, too. Pearls, pearls and more pearls!

I always thought it was a bad copy of Charles James' Tree evening dress but badly executed

Kate in a new Jenny Packham dress tonight. Very sparkly, but I like it!

Kate really rocks it on this tour. The same goes for William in the traditional clothes.

Beautiful gown and color, the sequins are a little obnoxious but not bad IMO. I can see Kate recycling this gown with the Cambridge Emeralds.

That would be a showstopping combination. I’m into it.

I agree, IMO she always looks best in saturated, bold colors.

It's okay.... The second photo of the dress suggests it gets stuck in between her legs when moving.
It's borderline carpet look but somehow she pulls it off. I would have liked to have seen a bit of colour though.

Ah, back to lace and spaniel ears, classic Kate. I actually like the dress Secret but that neckline is crying out for a killer necklace.

I love the top of the dress. A LOT. The rest is jus awkward.
Her earrings, while beautiful, don't go together with the dress.

I saw this on Alexander McQueen's web site and my mind immediatly went to Kate. I believe it would look absolutely dreamy on her, this is an ideal design for her figure and I loved this pattern! What do you think?
