She does always look really nice in Jenny Packham! Don’t remember many green evening gowns that she’s worn but this one has a nice light, “foamy, etherealness” to it that Kate does so well.
She has a couple, at least (I nerdily know because they are two of my favourites!): This Alexander McQueen one, worn once to BBC Sports Personality of the Year  and this lovely Temperley one  and there's the green sequin one she wore in Pakistan Thanks for the photos, FutureCrayon - I couldn’t think off the top of my head but both of these really are lovely on her. I know she has a lot of green coat dresses but couldn’t think of evening wear. |

For some reason, she is so fond of dark green. And in my opinion, it's not a good color for her at all. If she were a redhead or had a redhead's coloring, maybe.
If she ever had her colors ``done,'' I'm betting she would be classified as a winter and jewel tones would be recommended for her. At least she wisely eschews earth tones for the most part, which would be really bad on her, I think.

 Have any of y'all had your colors done and a season assigned to you? I'm a redhead but there are a lot of cool tones that seem to work for me, which seems to be counterintuitive  I've always been curious about having it done.

I had my colors done, Cordelia. In 1995 and I'm still using the color guide. I'm a late summer. I used Color Me Beautiful, which was located somewhere near Boston at the time. Soft summer seems like similar to late summer colors. Do it! It will show you that the colors you have probably gravitated toward and gotten compliments on all your life were correct. I honestly haven't deviated much from my palette ever. I just feel better in colors that work well with my skin and (now graying) hair. Do it! Worth the money. https://www.colormebeautiful.com/I think doing something like this in person is the way to go. But I'm an in person kind of person and think much is lost online. |

Had it done nearly 40 years ago but I still use it as a guide. I am mostly summer. |

This is what changes over time along with the abundance of hair. Hair gets lighter, then begins to acquire some gray ones now and then. Your skin tone also changes. Yet we remember ourselves and our 'best' colours in our minds. Once the gray hairs get more numerous, time to see the hairdresser about shifting the colour so it complements skin tone. And spending some time at the cosmetic store to see about shifting our makeup palette to complement current skin tone and hair. After that, time to re-evaluate our 'best' colors for clothes. Once all of these are harmonized, it makes you look and feel better about your public self. Keep in mind, it's takes time to adjust all of these things. |
