I totally agree with you! It was stupid to let McQueen (Sarah Burton) design a royal wedding dress when they were clearly not up to the job. However....that was only to be expected given the fact that romantic lace and Princess Grace replicas, isn't exactly their style. JMO of course.

Alexander McQueen was an amazing designer. Sarah Burton is not in his league. But even the dress she designed for Plum Sykes had more drama and romance than Kate's pointy, lumpy booby blahfest:

Oh I agree McQueen was a brilliant designer. What I meant was that Kate hired them to make a dress in a style they don't usually do, and it showed. If her wedding dress had been made by Jenny Packham I think the result would have been better, as it is a designer that produces dresses that fit more perfectly with Kates personality and style. This is JMO.

Completely!

But Kate would never have the personality to pull of a true McQueen. She's just too dull.

If I had to pick a favorite dress, I'd chose that one. Not that the dress is extraordinary fabulous, but I liked the whole look: the color, the make up and of course the updo. She looked lively and very feminine for once

I agree. This is one of my few favorites.

This is my favourite too, mainly because the backside was absolutely gorgeous.

I'm with you two on this one (even though I think she's far too thin). I like the whole look - except those hooker heel shoes (those are the sparkly silver ones, right? Cheap looking.). Her hair is great too.   Thumb up   Uh oh...I've said something nice...what have these body-snatchers done with the real gudgeon?!?   Crazy

IMO every gala dress she wears looks awful, no matter how hard she might try when she looks like a stick with a bob head nothing will look right. The only time I might have like it (the tusk gala), the dress was hideous and she didn't look confident enough to pull it off

Well they might look cheap, but they certainly are not.

I didn't mean cheap as in inexpensive, I meant cheap as in trashy looking (and, actually, they do look cheap/inexpensive too, IMO, regardless of the pricetag). And I certainly stand by that after seeing the shoes up close.

Glad I'm not the only one who seriously dislikes hooker heels! Dead

The Kate look-alike wearing a nicer ball gown than Kate's ever worn:

Did we ever see this one again?

And I guess this counts...

I am in agreement - I think this is one of her best looks, but my favourite thing about this dress is the colour and the updo.  Catherine NEVER wear her hair up and it looks so much nicer with these gala dress when her hair is up.  Obviously she loves her long, thick locks but who cares!  We have seen them down all the time - wear it up, Kate!

Isn't it?!  I think it's madness.  Sophie has a few pairs of Prada shoes that aren't far off that price too, as well as several Jimmy Choo shoes of the same price.  It's madness and even more mad considering how hideous those shoes Kate has!
