Could this mystery ring be the same one that Kate has had in her jewelry box since the early days of her relationship with Prince William? We're investigating today at The Court Jeweller

Those are not the same rings.

I'm more inclined to believe its a similar ring but with 3 jewels in - one for each child.

Watching the video it appeared to me that the stones run all the way around the ring, alternating light and dark. I wonder if it's an eternity ring of diamonds and sapphires, like the example here:

https://www.angara.com/au...te%2Bgold&ringSizes=7

Maybe she wanted something rather than wear Big Blue all the time (especially with her treatments) but more than just her plain wedding band.

Princess Catherine’s New Eternity Ring Reappears in a Celebratory Message
The newer ring, also an eternity-style band, is worn in place of her much larger sapphire and diamond engagement ring. That ring has been a mainstay in Kate’s life since William proposed in 2010, but there are many reasons why Kate may have decided to leave the engagement ring at home in her jewelry box this year.

I had a brief thought that maybe she reset her engagement ring - using the diamonds with smaller sapphires to create a new ring that is 100% her taste. Of course, she never would but it would be awesome. She’s done her time with that clunker, which is so obviously not her style. (I actually love big blue, but it was better suited to Diana’s frame and coloring.

Those are really beautifully designed earrings, I like them a lot. The whole ensemble she wore to church that day was nice.

I think Big Blue might be a bit loose in the band given how skinny she is now. No doubt she hopes to be her normal fighting weight soon and might not want to resize it. Just a thought.

This photograph also shows that Kate is still not yet back to wearing her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring on her left hand. In recent months, we’ve seen her opt to wear a new eternity-style band in place of the large ring.

I like the eternity band much better than Big Blue. It should have been retired when Diana died, it's clunky, dated, and a reminder of a not so happy union. The eternity band is fresh and symbolic of much happier sentiments.

Secret It will never happen until more time has passed, but the ring would make a lovely clasp on a nice string of pearls. Plenty of them in the vault from what I understand.

It would be wonderful for Charlotte or George's future wife.

I just think it has outlived it's usefulness as an engagement ring.

Considering the rumour is that this beauty was dismantled to provide the two additional diamonds for her SILs ring  Ranting

No way those diamonds came from a historic piece. That brooch/necklace was QEQM’s which was given to her by Queen Mary as a wedding gift.
