Is it just me or does George look older than 3 months?

He's quite big and I was surprised by his arm motion in this pic. Bi-lateral motions like this are often seen in babies a bit older.

So I guess he is either developing quickly or the surrogate had him early   Wink

He's wailing his arms thinking, "yay! I won the birth lottery!"

Seriously though, he's remarkably alert for a 3 month old.

Maybe he's just like mummy - looks 5 years older than actual age.

It almost looks as though Kate is holding up his arms with her index fingers and thumbs. They're hidden behind his christening gown so as to give the illusion that he is a joyful baby and raising his arms on his own.
I think that's far too much work for our Precious Snowflake.
After all, our girl can barely even sit up on her own, since she has no spine Snare

Why didn't the queen hold Prince George in any of the photos? I should have thought she'd be holding the baby in the QV-EVIII repeat!
PW was probably   Ranting Ranting Ranting"NAAA, he's mine! all mine!"
and PC & Qyeeny were like, Crazy Crazy Crazy Crazy" …ok whatever, I got things to do."

Because the Queen doesn't really like kids/babies???

I don't think she even really liked her own small children. (At least that's what Charles says).

So, why would she want to paw all over someone else's wet, fussy, noisy, crying baby?

As I prefaced in my previous comment, I said Prince Charles stated that the Queen did not particularly like her own children.  Researching further, it seems the Charles meant that QE2 was 'distant' with her own children, not that she disliked them.

But I'll let his biography speak for itself.

From a biography on Prince Charles

Though parental bonds were formed, the young Prince spent a good deal of his infant years separated from his mother and father. In the light of the failing health of his grandfather, King George VI, Princess Elizabeth was much occupied with preparing for her own accession to the Throne, and was frequently called upon to perform the stately duties that her ailing father was unable to undertake. Meanwhile the young Prince’s father, the Duke of Edinburgh, was often away at sea, as a naval officer in command of his own ship. So frequent and prolonged were such parental absences that Prince Charles is said to have failed to recognise his mother upon one occasion of her return.

IA, well, you can't blame the photographer who took the pictures of PG'S christening for failing to do the same, you can't capture what simply isn't there can you?  Smiley

Those are really sweet pics.  I'll be damned-she's actually got a personality Yes She never seemed like she had one before (at least not in my opinion).  I guess she's very good at being professional-so much so that I am shocked to see these pics.  Seriously.  This is a totally different side of her.

Star Kiki!
Thanks for the pictures, they're fuzzy warm aww.
Also that horseback picture reminds me of this cute little clip with the queen taking her grandchildren on a ponyback ride.

I really don't think that kind of affection to her grandkids can be faked Smiley

Lazy old Prince George, eh? He hasn't done one official event since his Christening!

Anyway, more presents:

Quote
The Samburu community celebrated the birth of Prince George by bestowing a community blessing upon the 3rd in line to the British throne in Samburu County.

In a ceremony attended by Mrs Phyllis Kandie, the Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism and His Excellence Dr Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner, the celebrations to welcome the birth of the future king will be held in the small town of Wamba. Also present will be Sammy Leshore, Senator for Samburu East.

Dr Turner will be handed a fattened black bull and goat -the traditional gifts- on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the royal family from the Namunyak Women's Group from the Samburu village of Ilsapache.

Customary blessings by Samburu elders and traditional dances by the Namunyak women are among other activities scheduled to take place. The gifted bull along with the four heifers will be used to start a Royal Herd which will be looked after by the Northern Rangelands Trust in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

Kenya remains a special place for the British royal family following Prince William's proposal to Kate on the foothills of Mount Kenya in October 2010. It is also where Queen Elizabeth learnt that she was ascending to the throne.

The Prince has frequently spoken about his passion for Kenya, referring to the country as his 'second home'. The Kenyan people are proud of their longstanding history with the royal family following the Queen's famous stay at Treetops in 1952, and so it is an honour for the country to mark the birth of the future monarch with a traditional Samburu ceremony.

The UK has had a long association with Kenya and continues to record the highest number of tourists into the country.
