The two Lux. outfit changes are a very good example of home-made worse.
The embroidered top is lovely, imagine it with a simple black perhaps very slightly mermaid taffeta or perhaps even velvet - to let the embroidery really take center stage.
The Flamengo skirt could be fun, but again keep the top simple. I think Maxima has a very similar skirt and she has worn it with different tops - alas Maxima can wear theater-costumes and look ok. I think for the young woman a T-shirt style top would have been perfect.
