^   Congrats  Champagne I really think Boudewijn's death added years to her face , i always assumed she was much older than that. What happened with Fabiola after Boudewijns death ? Did she continue to do engagements or was she slowly faded out ?

She continued to do many appearances, especially those dealing with honoring her husband and his contribution as King as well as being the Chairwoman of the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Music. Last year (after 50 years) she resigned from the QEC and Mathilde has taken on the patronage. I got in a fight with some people on the sugar-shack boards about the tax "scandal" (non-scandal in my humble opinion) and it's is my STRONG opinion that the traumatic event really took a toll on her health as well. She has not been to big big events which she has always attended from August 2013 to present.  They treated her VERY shabbily and anyway, I think she has pretty much retired.

Before her marriage, Queen Fabiola published a children's book.
The title of the book was The Twelve Marvellous Tales.    Smiley Smiley

Yes, that's a photo full of warm feelings.  I've posted this one before, but it's in the same vein:

I believe one of those tales was used in the Efteling themepark. Grin

According to the Efteling is the Indian Water Lilies in the park a permanent demonstration to honor Fabiola

Cool Indische waterlelies Video in Dutch but the art is the show and it's quite entertaining at 8:41 mins.

Aaaahhh thanks!!  I knew Fabiola had visited the Efteling, and especially the Water Lilies. But didn't know Philippe and Paola had accompanied her. I have done a short search but couldn't find pictures or moving images of Fabiola in the Efteling.

Cool Indische waterlelies Video in Dutch but the art is the show and it's quite entertaining at 8:41 mins.

Looking at the marks in the video (KRO and Zeppelin) this has been broadcasted on Dutch television for the kids a little while ago. In 2013-2014 the theater in the Efteling showed a new musical called Klaas Vaak (=The Sandman). Tales of Sandman was a television series about Efteling Figure Sandman, who in his sand castle fairy tales depict through sand drawings. At the beginning of each episode Sandman flies on his  owl Oehoe Houdoe through the night on the Efteling holiday park Bosrijk . Sandman enters his workspace and sprinkle sand on the big table. The video switches to a recording of sand on a light box, where fairy tales are drawn. Each episode lasts ten minutes.

The suggestion is made that Sandman, played by Jan Hoek, is drawing, but in reality the sand drawings of silver sand on a light box are made by Gert van der Vijver. The last one is also called the Zandtovernaar (= Sand Wizard). He had his own shows in the Netherlands and is amazing.

Fun fact: the owl Oehoe Houdoe is named after the Eurasian eagle-owl (in Dutch Oehoe because of its call) and Houdoe is a Brabant (dialect) word which is used as a farewell. Houdoe is well known in the Netherlands and the Efteling is in the province of Northern Brabant.

According to the Dutch news site Nu.nl:

http://www.nu.nl/achterkl...den-koningin-fabiola.html

The in December 2014 the deceased Queen Fabiola of Belgium still has employees. There were five to nine people on the payroll.

Several Belgian newspapers reported Monday that the legacy of Fabiola is a complicated issue.

Her last address, Castle Stuyvenberg not have been in her possession. The Royal Trust, the owner of the venue, can only when the legacy is rounded connect to a new destination to the castle.

The employees in question would carry out work in the castle.

Figuring out the legacy of Fabiola, who was married between 1960 and 1993 to King Baudouin of Belgium, would also be time-consuming, because each object in the castle should be considered whether it was owned by the Spanish woman.
