I've seen a few Tik Toks where this has happened to some people. I thought the same, like they followed the POTUS account and it automatically switched over. But, I was not able to see the handle. But, since you did not follow the official POTUS account, very suspect!

Countess, that is HORRIFYING but unsurprising.

I'm really debating getting rid of my social media altogether.

We were just talking about this at a party the other night.  We all were 70's 80's era when wiretaps were a thing.  One of our friends was busted with one,  so paranoid was the norm    "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you".  Now you literally carry a wiretap with you at all times (phone)  have it open in your house with Alexa and your TV.  24/7 the government can listen to you with no warrant.  It's crazy how right to privacy doesn't exist anymore. 

Have you notice just mentioning something will fill your screen with tips or sales?  The other night hubby casually mentioned he was craving my meatloaf.  Open my laptop, 10 links for meatloaf recipes    freaks me out but there it is, the new reality.

Yes, I have known for a while that my phone is listening to me. I was visiting with a coworker and she mentioned she was going on an Hawaiian cruise. I opened social media and I suddenly had ads for Norwegian Cruise line, when I've never seen an ad for a cruise before in my life. It's a bit unsettling, especially now when there are governments in place that I fundamentally don't trust to have people's best interests in mind. Canada is sure to follow in the USA's footsteps and vote in our own right wing party.

My phone is set so it cannot listen in. The tracking has been selectively modified too. Plus we have encrypted email accounts.

My phone provider lets me mark texts as junk, but I wish they'd have a setting for reporting scams. I had two texts yesterday from what were obviously bogus numbers/address' purporting to be the IRS, about the 1400.00 payments going out to some people.

Went into my insta account and the first thing I see is that I am following the POTUS account. I have never followed that account before.

So sorry my country has unleashed this mob boss on the world.  I sincerely hope other countries are making plans to protect themselves...here, well we're on our own.    Saw he's getting rid of top bosses in the anti-terrorism security departments  that can't be good. But hey, stock market hit 7000 so they love him.

I felt the need to share this information.  At first I thought it was a viral scam but it wasn't for me.  I find it terriyfing and straight out of Orwells 1984 Big Brother   

I don't know if it's everybody on Facebook, just the US or internationally.  It did effect the friends I passed it on too.

Yesterday Facebook automatically followed Trump White House without my knowing.  I immediately unfollowed so if you don't see me in the future by doing so I hope I don't end up on a concentration camp list 

To find out if you were targeted too >  go to your profile, find your activity log and then filter for connections.  This will show the pages you've followed with the date you joined.  If you see White House, you can then go and unfollow.

If this was so he can brag millions joined his FB page or a more nefarious purpose for spying I dont know.  I do know I find it alarming and resent it!

Thank you!! It's been two weeks and we've gone on several dates. I'm trying something new this time where I take things a bit slower, so right now I'm just enjoying all the butterflies!
