Today I get a majority of my braces off!
That's great news!
Do you wear braces for a long time?

18 months... and they're all off.  They didn't need to keep two brackets on.  The long part was them polishing off the glue.  I get my retainers on Thursday.

I'm now diving into pizza with the crust and I bought a scooter to celebrate...

That’s wonderful!  I have caps on my front teeth, and foods like whole apples and corn on the cob strike fear into my heart.

A story about an animal not native and can't survive in the midwestern US due to the climate.

Florida expert captures elusive alligator at Chicago lagoon
July 16, 2019

CHICAGO (AP) — Police say an expert from Florida has captured an elusive alligator in a Chicago public lagoon.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the Humboldt Park gator was caught humanely early Tuesday and is in good health.

The reptile, nicknamed “Chance the Snapper,” was first spotted last week and photos soon started showing up online. Investigators don’t know why the animal, which is at least 4 feet (1.2 meters) long, was on the loose in Chicago.

Frank Robb of St. Augustine, Florida, arrived Sunday and assessed the park and lagoon. Sections of the park were closed to the public Monday on Robb’s recommendation, to reduce the noise and kerfuffle that could keep the animal in hiding.

Guglielmi says details about the alligator and its capture will be released later Tuesday.

The current theory is that the animal was a pet became too big to keep and was released in the lagoon in early spring.
The park has a swimming beach separated from the lagoon - alligators walk and run across land. :/

Just trained my telescope - partial lunar eclipse tonight!

To see almost from everywhere around the world (but the US, CA, Mexico, northern Norway and Eastern Part of Russia), in some parts less phases.

Partial Eclipse begin in Germany is 10 pm CET.

Earthquake in Athens, 5,1R.
I'm not in Athens now but here we were shaking as well, it was strong and it had big duration, aprox. 1 minute. No losses, all is good, the only problems are on communication, telephones are out of order and there people who are hemmed in elevators, but everything is ok.
I was a little bit shocked because it reminded me the catastrofic earthquake of 1999, it was a big disaster for Athens, buildings had collapsed, many people died back then - and, again, I wasn't in Athens either, but we have felt it and it was way stronger than this one. I'm rambling now, because I was scared for a moment. But, thank God, no victims this time!

Yes, we all are good, thank you!!!!
I have an aunt with alzheimer, she's all alone at her home, her daughter is not in Athens, I'm worried but I want to believe she will be ok. Some relatives go there and they'll tell us.
