Have you ever concidered to learn greek? Do you learn greek? Do you think it's hard? Well, I just noticed this video about foreigners who live in Greece permantly and their experiences learning the greek language. I found it very entertaining and I also learned that in Aegina there is a conciderably big community of foreigners who permantly live there. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxeKuajmHioI lived in northern Greece for about a year in my early 20s and wish I'd tried harder to learn Greek. I was either around Americans or Greek students who learned in English so it was easy not to learn much besides very basic words and phrases. I definitely found it hard (I think being a different alphabet made it intimidating) but I think it's such a fun language and I loved listening to people speak it! I'll have to check out the video. |

(Hronia polla is a general wish we use here, in every happy occasion. It literally means "many years") I wish we could celebrate this milestone differently, the pandemic makes things harder. I had in my minds many things I would like to write here, many things I would like to say to people from other countries about Greece. Words are not enough. It's really a big day for us, today. Every year is an important day, March 25th. This year, the significance is even bigger. It is also combined with the religious celebrations of the Announciation (announcement of Jesus' conception). It was wonderful - I absolutely adore Greece. Beautiful country and just great, friendly people. I learned so much while I was there (even if I didn't get the language skills). I wish you were getting to have a bigger celebration this year as well! |

A paper cowboy rides out his quarantine in Australian hotelhttps://apnews.com/articl...06d18fcb03187703c8138cfc1 By Day 3 of being confined to his Australian hotel room for quarantine, David Marriott was getting bored. He’d watched a few seasons of “The Sopranos” and his eyes were getting tired from reading.
Then his lunch arrived in a brown paper bowl and he thought “Aha. That’s a hat waiting to happen.”
The paper cowboy was born.
Using the good quality paper bags his food was delivered in each day, Marriott, an art director on TV commercials, began fashioning an outfit. He added a brim to his hat, and then came the waistcoat and chaps. Next? A horse, of course.

Wow. Somebody really didn’t want him looking at something. RIP. Hey! I didn't answer earlier, I was waiting in case we would learn something more. He seemingly didn't have any "dangerous" case, lately he was participated in a tv show like Oprah, so to speak, focusing on general social issues, no politics, not gangs, not super prominent/famous people involved and he covered murders, yes, but nothing too "dangerous" for him. It's not discussed in the media, but some people say that he was deeply involved - with whom or what, I don't know. I'm still schocked, really. I didn't know him personaly and still can't believe it. I cannot imagine how his family feels. |
