And we used to think royals didn't get divorced...  so why not call off a wedding?  The current count of Paris did.  He had engagement photos and a date and everything with Elvire de Rochefort.  And then it was off.

who was it that broke off at the last minute with his bride and went off with his male partner?

IIRC it was one of the UK royals...anyone remember?

Gabriella Kingston had a relationship pre-marriage with a ... journalist ... (I use the term loosely) who ended up with a guy.  But I don't think they were ever even engaged.  He spilled some beans about Princess Michael in an article for Vanity Fair magazine, after the break up.

That Taseer fellow is just a scoundrel.  He's constantly going on and on about all his extra-curricular activities ("but I wasn't gay!") while with Lady Ella.

Anyhoo, I hope Theodora is okay.  I do love a good royal wedding.

Lord Ivar Mountbatten perhaps?

Mountbatten was born in London, to David Mountbatten, 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven, and the former Janet Mercedes Bryce. His elder brother is George Mountbatten, 4th Marquess of Milford Haven. Queen Victoria was his great-great-great-grandmother, and he is a descendant of Alexander Pushkin and Abram Gannibal

He is also a second cousin of King Charles III through both of their fathers. His paternal grandfather was Prince George of Battenberg, through whom he is a morganatic descendant of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt.

Mountbatten married Penelope Anne Vere Thompson (born Salisbury, Wiltshire, 17 March 1966), only daughter of Colin Graham Thompson of Old Manor House, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, and his wife Rosemary Vere Edwardes. The ceremony took place on 23 April 1994 at the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Clare, Suffolk. They have three daughters

The couple separated in September 2010 and divorced amicably in November 2011, after 17 years of marriage. In 2015, he converted their former home, Bridwell Park, into an exclusive-use venue for weddings, corporate functions, and business events.

In September 2016, Mountbatten revealed that he was in a relationship with James Coyle, an airline cabin services director whom he met while at a ski resort in Verbier. On 22 September 2018 they were married in a private ceremony on Mountbatten's estate of Bridwell Park. Mountbatten's former wife walked him down the aisle and 'gave him away' at the suggestion of their children.

Eehhh wasn't it with Duchess Tatjana of Oldenburg?

"...Prince Jean was due to marry Duchess Tatjana of Oldenburg (b. 1974) in 2001. Duchess Tatjana is the youngest daughter of Duke Johann of Oldenburg (b. 1940) and his wife, Countess Ilka of Ortenburg (b. 1942). Her elder sister Eilika married Archduke Georg of Austria in 1997. However, the wedding was cancelled at the last moment because of a dispute over religious denomination: Jean's father, Henri, feared the Orléans claim to the throne would be compromised if there were to be a Protestant heir..."

On 29 November 2008, Henri, then Count of Paris, announced the engagement of Jean, the then Duke of Vendôme, to Maria Magdalena Philomena Juliana Johanna de Tornos y Steinhart, born in Vienna on 19 June 1977. The civil wedding, conducted by Mayor Rachida Dati, took place on 19 March 2009 in Paris. The religious wedding was held on 2 May 2009 at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame at Senlis, with a reception at the Château de Chantilly  They have six children

Tatjana eventually married French count Axel de Chavagnac in September 2010. As far as I know they have 2 daughters Alexandrine and Astrid.

Theodore did bring her fiance to the Memorial service for King Constantine earlier this year, and she wasn't wearing a ring then. If she hasn't ditched him by now, I'd say the wedding is probably still on.

Just popping up in this thread to say that there more and more reports (especially in Halo magazine) about Theodora's wedding in September 28th, so it seems it's a given. On the other hand, I haven't noticed any official announcement - but Aristidis made a post on instagram late August (I think) with a photo of his granma saying "I'll see you soon, in September" or something similar and for many that was an indication for the upcoming wedding.

Edit: That Saturday I have another wedding to attend, so I won't be  able to follow the news or post anything.

Somebody published the wedding invitation on X. It's hard to read, but I guess we can be sure that the wedding will happen

Eh, it looks so common. Nothing interesting, nothing classy about it, even the fonts.

Interesting that because of the font used HRH stands out massively - looks a bit out of place and a bit too much.

I agree, the font seems too much.

I like the black background with light-coloured letters but maybe it's not a good choice for a wedding.
Maybe they have black homour, hence the black background.
