I do think the consort role makes all the difference though. QE2 was certainly regal and didn’t attain a comfortable/old shoe status, nor did she aim for that, either. Her consort did present more of an “Everyman” style with his jokes, laughter, etc.

KC3 is more standoffish, less attainable. There is something very “Kinglike” about that.  Cam does present the more attainable balance to Charles.

The visit to France next week is up in the air with multiple changes rumored due to French protests. I’m wondering if they will cancel that part altogether.
