Now that is interesting...thank you. My blue eyed husband and myself (blue eyed) have a brown eyed daughter. I've often wondered how this is possible. I have a biology A level and 'know' about these things!
In her teenage years I used to think she was swapped at birth...but as she was born in Singapore and, that week, the only European child to be born on he ward,I figured that was impossible.
So now I know that she does indeed get the attitude from me!! Jumping Supercontent Jumping

You are welcome Smiley

I was also curious myself. I had heard about it before, but I no longer knew the exact how and what.

It has already relatively long been said that determining eye color (seen from heredity point) is more complex than was learned during regular biology lessons, etc.

And since many of us have come to realise that the royals are not really appointed by the Almighty God, but merely won the vagina-lottery of good luck, it is actually of no consequence at all if indeed a child had been adopted at birth or born to the parents…
Not that I would buy into the conspiracy theories. But having children born to me and found in the cabbage patch, I can say with all my heart: there is NO DIFFERENCE to my love...

This is very very nice sentiment.

For some reason your post popped into my mind when I saw Hakon and Mette-Marit. There’s another green/blue eyed parental couple with a brown eyed child.

Interestingly, my husband and I both have green/brown hazel eyes and my oldest son has greyish blue eyes! My younger son has chocolate brown eyes.

I felt like a real moron when I asked the pediatrician at my oldest son's two year checkup when his eye color would change and he was like "your kid has blue eyes..."

Yeah, we have a very strange combo as well. Mr. Pede has dark brown eyes, so has all his family. My side is all blue/grey-blue eyed. I am the only one having green eyes, and my son has dark green eyes. From afar they seem brown, but on close up or side view they are dark green.

Many, many years ago I found an eye colour calculator.
That site or link does not work anylonger but I found this one which is similar in that it takes into account the grandparents.

https://www.predict-eyes.com/

I have brown eyes, mr ghost has blue eyes, our children have green, black and blue eyes.

My eyes are unusual too. Both of my parents have bright blue eyes. My paternal grandmother had blue eyes, so did my maternal grandfather (I don't know about my paternal grandfather). However my maternal grandmother had green eyes. When I was a toddler I had blue eyes, then they went bluey-green. Now they are more green. I have no idea if eyes can change colour, and I found it really odd that I have such a different eye colour to my parents. The only person who I know had similar eye colour to me was my maternal grandmother. There is only one female cousin on my mother's side of the family, and interestingly her eyes went green as she went through puberty. I clicked on the link Ghost posted and apparently I have 99% chance of having blue eyes, but 0.5% of having green or brown eyes.

A mother was walking down the street with her four kids: two adopted, two bio. A neighbor saw the family and asked the mother who was adopted and who was bio? The mother shrugged and said, “honestly, I don’t remember...”

There is lovely saying about adopted children "not borne under my heart, but in it."

I like that even though this thread was reactivated so that someone could post ugly conspiracies, it's turned into a thread with fascinating links and heartwarming sentiments.   Champagne
