Prince William is meeting service personnel and families, as well as opening a boxing club and taking a look at some new tech.

I can't find the exact tie but there are many official RAF ties that look very similar. Many bases have their own tie so this may be the specific tie for RAF Connigsby or it maybe a tie related to his own service in the Air Rescue.

The one thing I am fairly sure is that it won't be a 'made up' or 'unofficial' or 'look alike' tie. William is still an officer in the RAF and would know the correct 'form'. Just as he wears the correct RAF uniform at things like the recent Remembrance Day service at the cenotaph he would wear only a correct tie for a visit to a base.

Star Thank you for the info, luvcharles.  Smiley That's interesting how the belonging is displayed subtly in a civilian uniform. That's a nice looking tie, BTW.

IMO it was always a silly move to appoint a future Prince of Wales as Patron of the Football Association. I think at the time his team saw it as balanced as he also took of Patronage of Welsh Rugby Union.

Perhaps he should have visibly supported both teams from the off, for example he recently presented England with their shirts… but not Wales.

I think a huge part of the issue Welsh people have (as a half Welshie myself) is generally England is seen as a much better football team (though that is changing) while Wales is seen as on par with England for Rugby. In other words, is he just supporting the ones most likely to win.

It really is just Sport but given the fact they seemed to ensure William spent some times in Wales when he was in RAF it seems odd that in this area they have dropped the ball (excuse the pun) by not thinking it through.

Heck bar the recent loss over Italy I'd say that the Welsh team is better than England!

But I absolutely get what you mean. It would have been easier for William to support either Welsh rugby and football, and for his spouse to support English rugby and football (or vice versa). Though I must say rugby league doesnt have much support in Wales so that may present a problem
IMO it would make sense to have Kate as of the FA (yes I know William was appointed before his marriage) which would allow the Prince of Wales to support all things Welsh.

Though, I must say people may find it weird for William to support Wales and Anne to support Scotland. Neither are Welsh or Scottish (bar some ancestry) and it may appear that they are only supporting the countries because they are obliged to by their position. If they were ordinary Anne and William neither one would probably give Wales or Scotland a second glance.

Did he ever complete that specially designed university course several years back that was meant to help him when he became Duke of Cornwall?  I know there were stories that he was blowing it off, but then it completely faded from the news.

A few pics from Cornwall. They aren’t very good. Will post more later as they pop up.

21-year-old Lily Dickinson, a student at the Orchard, plucked up the courage to ask Prince William for a picture to show her grandad.

Since it was more or less a tailor made extension course, I believe that he would have been able to complete it on his own timeline and it wouldn't have had exams or papers probably because he wasn't going to receive an certificate. Nor would there have been a graduation, so no need for an official announcement. I recall a number of visits to farms and other agriculture related enterprises. He was also doing the flight training in preparation for the EAAA job around the same time.
