Dank u for the videos! When was the last Eleven Cities race held? From what I have read,  the event has to be organized very quickly in order to have the best conditions for the number of skaters.

According to my memory the last one was in 1997.

A Dutch website about the Dutch royals had in 2016 an item about the Oranjes and skating:

http://www.deoranjes.nl/2...ranjes-op-de-schaats.html

Beatrix and her sisters skating:

Juliana with little Beatrix on the ice:

Emma with young Wilhelmina on the ice:

Wilhelmina and Juliana in 1917

Juliana:

Bernhard, 2nd son of princess Margriet (he organises annually (?) a sport event to raise money, after he suffered from cancers. It includes skating, in which many of his family participate).

Bernhard's older brother Maurits, with his wife and 2 youngest children on the ice:

Margriet skating:

Max & WA during a Queensday:

Max and WA, in particular the last one, are very, very, very enthusiastic supporters at major ice skating events. Well known are the images of them with an without family at the Olympic winter games.

I dont think so. Many skaters give up around that age, between their body changing and getting ready for college. And with the quad triple combinations being landed by the Russian (baby ballerina) ladies in senior, you need triple triple combinations for be competiitive now in Junior Grand Prix level. Frankly, the only reason you are not seeing some Russian Junior ladies bringing quads to the JGP is that it's against the rules. And now there is a minimum age you have to be to skate senior. Like our present American lady champion for the second year in a row is Alyssa Liu. Last year she won at 13,  but she was not elegible for senior GP events due to age.
