My mind is still boggled by why and how "Prince Frederik" and "Queen Crown Princess Mary" shared a diamond tiara while sitting at opposite sides of the table. Did they take turns to wear it? Or was it a great stonking huge tiara that stretched across the breadth of the dinner table? Genuinely curious how palace etiquette manages this! And is No Idea implying the reason Mary will be "crowned" is that, in fact, she is a man and will take presence over her tiara wearing husband? I think it was only last month they directly announced Mary was undergoing some sort of transition into her new role. GENDER

Transition indeed!  I'm still laughing at the image in my head of that "great stonking huge tiara that stretched across the breadth of the dinner table"!!  Laughing

I didn't bother with X..Y...Z

Hmmmm, interesting, didn't realize that about Ingrid, so Yrma will be H.M. as well then  Secret Crap

Why wasn't Henrik styled H.M. Prince Consort Henrik. You know....I just found this: King consort. A king consort (also Emperor consort) is an alternative title to the more usual "prince consort", which is a position given in some monarchies to the husband of a reigning queen.

she could have done that easy peasy, and safe her a lot of hardship. Or change Yrma's title to H.M. Princess Consort.

Oh, I think this is totally the right thing to do, don't you?  Fair, equal among the sexes, equitable within the family.  Consorts have lesser titles than regnant.  Since Mary wanted to modernize the Danish monarchy, I think her mother-in-law should assist in the effort!

Our western societies are based on male dominance:
In almost all societies the wives would assume the station and position of her husband upon marriage:
any girl marrying a duke would become a duchess, there were (are?) no duchesses in their own right, but for example a dowager duchess who married a Mr. Smith would become Mrs Smith rather than him becoming a duke.
There are countless examples of this (See Norway>> Princess Ragnhild, Fru Lorentzen and Princess Astrid, Frau Ferner, the husbands were probably offered a courtesy title but only because this is royalty, not aristocracy)
PeDe in Austria until the fifties woman would even share in their husbands academic titles (Die Frau Doktor probably never even attended secondary school, only her own wedding - a female Doktor was called Die Doktorin)
So in any case I would assume Mary title would be the same as Maxima's and Letizia's:
Her Majesty, Queen Mary of Denmark

That was not only in Austria, but in Germany as well. I remember the wife of our Hausarzt being called "Frau Doktor", and I thought it ridiculous then let alone today.

Yeah.  There's nothing stopping Mary from becoming, HM Queen Mary ... eventually.

If QMII had not given royal assent when Fred "wanted" to marry Mary, then Mary might have been acquired her HRH status and eventually would not be allowed to be HM when when Fred ascends as HM King Frederik X.

Dear fellow dishers,

let us pray that this dreadful day will never come or come very soon!!!!
Until this sad day I keep my hopes up that Marge will at least turn 95-years-old (or even older...) and/or that Derf comes to his senses before that day, develop a spine and kick Mosh out of the palace. It's the only way to get rid of Mosh b/c she will never give up the live-style and camera *hring...  Thinking

New Idea is at it again. This time they say both that M& F are having a rough patch and that Daisy will abdicate in 2019.

New Idea on the bandwagon, I'll be it's driving mares crazy.  Her perfect world has cracks in it...news flash  Roll Eyes

I find it all quite amusing but feel sorry for the kids, it's got to be getting back (not that they're not aware) in hurtful ways.  This family has had weird dynamics since before the twins were born JMO

I do have a question, I'm sorry if it's been answered.  Does Daisy or Freddles have the power to make her full on HRM not consort? (or am I understanding this correctly?)   I know in her mind she styles herself queen already, I'm just curious how it could turn out differently.

I am starting to suspect something is going on Thinking No Idea and other Aussie mags work very closely with Mosh PR team, I find it hard that she did not approved or leaked this "poor me" and "crisis/divorce" rumours after so many years of driving the perfect family image. What change the narrative all of a sudden? And her dad showing up in Denmark after being missing in action for a very long time? Weird timing imo...
