RIP Sad

My prediction was either her or Philip. Hope she has some peace now!

I'm 98.7% sure Philip is immortal.

RIP Fabiola. Sad But as someone else said, at least she is with the love of her life now.

It was to be expected, sadly. She needed a wheelchair and oxygen and hasn't left her home for months it seems. I hope she will be remembered for her great work as queen and not for her financial misjudgements. The press and the public opinion wasnt very kind to her these last few years.  Sad

First may I say R.I.P. Hopefully she didn't suffer too much in the last months Sad

Second, I don't know too much about Faiola besides some of the basics and this probably isn't the time to ask but what financial misjudgments are you talking about? What happened?

She set up a foundation to settle her inheritance. It was seen as way to avoid taxes.

I wonder if they consider to hold her funeral on Dec 15th. It was on that day in 1960 that she married Baudouin.

Sad news for BRF.
Queen Fabiola was a sweet lady who continued her selfless affection and commitment for her family for her entire life.  The loss is evident in the faces of her loved ones.
Rest In Peace.

Sad RIP, Sweet Queen. That cartoon really touched me. She's reunited with her joy now.
I didn't expect that I would be feeling really really sad to read this news.

A friend who is originally from Belgium told me that the image and the reality of Queen Fabiola is a lot like that of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.   The image being that of a sweet and gracious little old lady who was like a grandmother to a nation, but in reality both were very strong women exerting influence behind the scenes with unyielding ideas and spines of steel.

Extremely interesting obit, esp. the story of how she and Baudouin got together.

Well, unfortunately my prediction was correct for this year. I knew she was so weak and in pretty severe decline. She is now in his embrace again.

Lellobeetle,
I would know nothing of Fabiola if not for you .

I pray she and Baudouin are together now ...forever

I just heard about this. RIP Queen Fabiola.  Sad. I wonder who will inherit her two tiaras? Especially the one that's a gift from Spain?
