Triumphal entry into  Naples of King Alfonso V of Aragon in 1442

Cyril Sebastian, I love your posts and  truly admire your knowledge and research. Thank you.
Just one thing: Cataluña/ Catalonia has never been a kingdom; it was a principality under the crown of Aragón.

From Wiki: )King Ferdinand died on 2 April 1416, and)  Alfonso succeeded him as king of Aragon, Valencia, and Majorca and count of Barcelona ( yes, the same title Juan Carlos' father chose to hold).
Alfonso the Magnanimous[a] (1396 – 27 June 1458) was the King of Aragon and King of Sicily (as Alfonso V) and the ruler of the Crown of Aragon from 1416 and King of Naples (as Alfonso I) from 1442 until his death.

Star  Thank you for this.  So many people in today's politics compare Scotland to Catalonia without knowing history.  Scotland was always an independent kingdom in the UK, Catalonia was not.  It was part of the Kingdom of Aragon.

James II (Jaime II) was the King of Aragon and Valencia from 1291 to 1327. He was involved in the 1321 leper scare. He ordered the arrest and torture of French lepers seeking shelter in his realm.

Maria Christina of the Two Sicilies, Queen of Spain, was the wife of King Ferdinand VII of Spain. Three months after her husband's demise, Queen Maria Christina married again. She secretly married Augustin Fernando Munoz. He was a former member of the royal guard. They had nine children.

Isabella married Ferdinand of Aragon in 1469, the year she became Queen of Castile. The two kingdoms were formally united when Ferdinand II became king of Aragon in 1479.
